Cremiger, moderat alkoholischer Beginn. Dunkles Malz, angenehme Herbe, Kaffee, wenig Holz und Vanille. Trocken, leicht herb, konstant würzig, langer Nachhall, Schokolade. Vollmundig, Kaffee, langer Nachhall. Könnte etwas weniger Alkohol haben, rund. 10/9/11/11/9/11

Pint can pours with a nice dark chocolate colored body that supports a thin ring of dark tan foam. The aroma offers up chocolate malts, coffee and then some thin rye to oak notes. The taste delivers such great balance and depth. Alesmith is the standard to compare to regarding barrel aging beer to attain the right barrel to beer flavor balance. Wow. I get smooth slick dark chocolate followed quickly by dark roasted coffee that's tempered and blended into the maltiness. To midway the barrel character begins to create a pleasing boozy rye twang cutting perfectly against the sweeter richer base beer notes. Wonderful. Typical Alesmith.

16 oz can from Alesmith. Nose is chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, and a hint of roast. Black with a bigger, quick dissipating cinnamon tan head. Flavor is lightly sweet with a moderate and appropriate amount of vanilla and bourbon.

Med brown, lots of dark sugar. Big molasses, gingerbread. Decent, that ginger/molasses thing isn’t bad.

Can thanks to Me. Opaque dark brown beer, small and short lived darkish tan head. Smooth and slightly viscous palate, decent fine carbonation. Soft rich dark malts, good dark chocolate. Nicely integrated espresso coffee, comes through stronger on the back end. Bourbon soaked dark fruits. Airy finish. Comes together very well, rich and tasty and very drinkable.
