473mL can. Pours black with no head. Chewy dark sugars, bourbon, rum, coffee, cacao, and a touch of cinnamon on the nose. Flavour has a very rich malt profile, dark sugars, good roast, earthy coffee and dark chocolate, notes of cinnamon and vanilla, a light touch of chili heat; huge bourbon and rum barrels. The base is great and the barrels and adjuncts are well integrated. Excellent.

Pint can pours with a dark chocolate colored body that supports a mocha colored head of foam. The aroma offers up an inviting blend of vanilla, chocolate and nutty coffee pulling up into increasing levels of boozy heat. The taste is indeed velvety with chocolate to slick dark chocolate near ponderous rich vanilla goodness. To midway the barrel treatment begins to kick in with boozy yet fairly smooth bourbon barrel slowing giving ground to dark roasted coffee and a blend of coffee nuttiness. Into the finish the coffee lingers as the boozy heat begins to warm the innards. What a fun sipper.

US Pint can (last one of the mixed four pack, from Baron's Market, Temecula), drank on 19th April 2026. Black with a tanned roof. Fairly bitter and almost sour blackberry start, gets sweeter as you attack it. Can't decide if it's the best of the 2025 series, or the worst.

Top 50 for the style. Breaking this out to celebrate Flyers 3-2 game one playoff win against the hated Penguins! 16 ounce can from Tavour. Jet black pour. Small tan head dissipates to a creamy cap. Aromas of dark roasted malt, coffee, oak and whiskey. Initial sip brings joyous notes of dark coffee, rye malt and dark chocolate. Quickly followed by notes of oak, whiskey, vanilla and chocolate ganache. Remarkably smooth and complex for such a big brew. The warmer this gets, the better it tastes. Well done!

Very dark brown. So much vanilla and wafer flies out of the glass and smacks you in the face. Some coffee, but this is a fairly unsubtle beer. On the palate, the balance is really good though. Coffee, some barrel, alcohol, all of which smacks up against the over the top vanilla character. It's a weird mix of refined vs unrefined.

Can @Luppolo Station (Rome).
