Amber-red colour. Cloudy, with a thick head. Hop aroma is rich with tropical fruit (mango, kiwi, cantaloupe). Rich, deep bitterness and stacks of fruit on the palate, plus a sweet underpinning that is mainly pale malt but with a firm, light crystal malt stickiness. A fat dose of yeast, long and pithy and Orvallish, adds complexity yet somehow avoids impeding the exceptional brightness of this beer. So rich, complex, bright and rewarding, this beer f’n rocks. Simply one of the best IPAs I’ve ever had.

Thick, oily and inky, with only a hint of brown. Rich, molassesy aroma wth hints of fruits and light nuts. Boozy towards the end, but still rich and oily. Fun stuff.

Bottle at Volo courtesty Hogtown and tupalev. Near black with a thin head. Fairly chocolatey, with some cocoa and gutted nuts. Tart body with some chocolate, some nuts and cherry. Too much tartness keeps this beer from doing much of anything to interest me, sa the other flavours all become obfuscated.

Bottle @ Volo courtesy of Hogtown Harry & tupalev. Cloudy, beige with no head. Bretty, woody nose with some light malt and a hint of pedio. Captures the essence of buggy beer really well. Sweet, slightly spicy body. Sweet-tart in the finish with light brett. Fun stuff.

In mouth, a sultry bitter chocolate with warming alcohol, light vanilla and flral hops. Like a good belgian dark chocolate. Rich and onctuous. Bottle from the brewery, March 2008. Sampled august 16, 2008.

A pink rosy beer with a thin big bubbled white head. Very nice barnyard and raspberry aroma, strong Brett, and acids. Effervescent and tart in mouth, raspberry meeting Brettanomyces, woody notes and aged cheese. Rich and interesting. Thanks Hopfenstark! Bought at brewery.
