dark orange pour, 1 finger creamy head that sticks around. looks great! smells really good. piney with some orange and grapefruit. an intense bitterness with some pine. This is a pine bomb I guess. the mouthfeel is good with a pellegrino finish.

Draft @ BCTC, Ommegang Brewery. August, 8, 2015. Gold color with a slight haze. Aroma shows light spicy yeast, light fruit. Fruit upfront. Subtle yeast character and would not have picked out the rye had I not already known it was there. Texture and body is a nice medium.

Draft @ BCTC, Ommegang Brewery. August, 8, 2015. Clear gold color, steady carbonation. Aroma is mostly grapefruit with light floral hints.

Grapefruit upfront and foremost, zesty hints, light grass. Pretty decent balance with a steady bitterness. End clean, nicely drinkable. I would call this steady.

Draught. Hazy lemon yellow with very small whitish frothy head that leaves a small ring quickly, citrus and honey aroma, high carbonation, typical Belgian yeast flavor, thin body, medium finish with honey like aftertaste. Not bad but not spectacular either.

Got in a BIF from beerloserLI. 12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours fairly crystal clear deep golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of bright citrus/piney hops and moderate bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and robustness of bright citrus/piney hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately sticky, and slightly creamy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice standard C hopped IPA. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/piney hops and moderate bready malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Got in a BIF from beerloserLI. 12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours fairly crystal clear very dark brown color with a 1 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toast, dark bread, light coffee, herbal, light dark fruit, and yeast/roasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, earthy hops, and light fruity/earthy yeast notes; with good strength. Taste of big chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toast, dark bread, light coffee, herbal, light dark fruit, and yeast/roasted earthiness. Light herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toast, dark bread, light coffee, herbal, light dark fruit, and yeast/roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic robustness, balance, and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, earthy hops, and light fruity/earthy yeast flavors; with a great roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy, and slightly slick/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.7%. Overall this is an awesome English porter style. All around great robustness, complexity, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, earthy hops, and light fruity/earthy yeast flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.

New Beer Distributors, NYC bottle ($2.25): Pours orange with a white head. Aroma is distinctly tropical fruit, grapefruit, west coast whatever, from the moment that I cracked the cap with my office stapler (really the only reason I keep a stapler next to my computer). Taste is immediately bitter then hits with a touch of sweet and then the bitterness takes back over and lingers deep into the aftertaste. Pretty good, although it is certainly not breaking new grounds. Not as juicy as some west coasters and certainly less malty than the east coasters. Good.
