Description
An independent, family-run brewery for over 110 years. True Belgian craftsmanship. That's Haacht Brewery.

On June 14, 1898 Eugène De Ro brewed his first top fermentation beer. Four years later he also started brewing bottom fermentation beer. His beers were such a hit that ‘Haecht’s Dairy Company and Brewery’ became one of the best Belgian breweries in 1913. In the fifties and sities there were numerous small takeovers and the Haacht Brewery beers were being distributed across the entire country. Thanks to the take-overs of breweries in the south of the Netherlands and northern France, Haacht Brewery set foot ashore in neighboring countries. In 1990, Haacht Brewery started the complete replacement of its production apparatus; the whole process was completed around 2015. Today, Haacht Brewery is a state-of-the-art brewery, inspired by its history and at the same time more than ready for the future.

Bottle. Nice lasting tan head. Color is brown and a little hazy. Sweet fruity aroma. Taste is sweet and alcoholic, but very well balanced.

Bottle. Cloudy pale gold colour with lasting white head. Bit lagery for me. Doesn’t have the panache of other wits. I don’t like it much. Some lemon and cereal. But lagery aroma and flavour puts you off.

Bottled (BB 02/2007)
Pale hazy yellow color, small steady white head, some lace. Fruity nose - some yeast, apricot and mango. Quite carbonated, bitterish with some mango-fruity and citrusy notes. Bitter, alcoholic aftertaste. Simple but reasonable well-made "everyday" tripel.

Poured a golden amber color with a bubbly white head. Had a fruity aroma to it, and tasted also like sweet fruit with a bitter malt finish.

Dark reddish black color with a nice light brown head. Aroma was sweet and hoppy. Taste was of a caramel and malty, didn’t last long to the tongue.

(Can 33 cl) Comeas as "Kaiser Premium Beer". Pale golden with a creamy, white head leaving some curtains in my glass. Irregular, metallic nose. Sweet’n’sour flavours with lots of metal and a harsh, bitter finish. Quite unpleasant. 280206

Bottle at Paters Vaetje, Antwerp. Chestnut colour with beige head. Spicey aroma, with caramel. slightly sweet in mouth with more caramel. Nice hoop drying finish. Spice is quite perfumed. Served in dimpled half pint jug. Perfumed spice runs into finish. Fine, but weird. Not sure the spice/sweet mix works here.

Bottled. Dark ruby red colour, beige mediumsized head, lacing. Aroma is grassy hoppy along with some sweetness. Flavour is very bitter caramel, which makes a strange result. Some watery plum in aftertaste, with also smoked cigarrettes, old coffee and hay. Watery palate. Feels unbalanced.
