Founded on July 1st 2016, Brouwerij De Feniks is all about Living your Passion (in our case : brewing the great beers we love and helping others do to the same) and keep doing what you love no matter what. As you only live once, you will find out at some point that it pays off on emotional/satisfaction and many other levels to follow your passion. 02/06/2018 - small tasting glass @Brouwers in 't Bos, Ename. Golden colour, with white head. Nose is malts, some hops, bit hay. Taste is sweet malts, some hops, feels like a tripel.

Cette bière aurait très bien pu s'appeler De Feniks Chrismas Ale! Avec écorce d'orange, anis étoilé, cardamome, cumin, piment, cannelle dans sa composition, je pense que vous ne me contredirez pas. Si je poursuis en vous disant qu'elle est brune (parfaitement limpide avec une mousse beige de 3 mm) et qu'elle titre à 9 %, vous me dites bingo! Et dès le nez d'ailleurs, on sent le vin chaud! Il est plutôt appréciable, même s'il fait un peu "grossier". Un peu de raffinement aurait été de bon aloi. On retrouve cette sensation à la dégustation. des épices, il y en a, pour sûr! Dès l'attaque ceux-ci sont très présents sur une base chocolat/caramel. La texture aurait gagné tout de même à être un peu plus dense pour davantage de sensualité. La deuxième bouche voit l'orange prendre un peu plus de place et les arômes s'intensifier toujours sur une présence épicée importante. L'ensemble se tient. Une petite pointe d'acidité donne une petite touche de fraîcheur et de pep's bienvenue, d'autant plus que l'amertume avec 18 d'IBU n'est pas très développée (mais suffisante). L'arrière bouche est par contre peu développée et manque d'ampleur. A partir de la troisième bouche, l'alcool et l'amertume montent quelque peu pour un final oùl es 9 % prennent complètement leur essor en compagnie de la cardamome. En la considérant comme une bière de Noël, elle se tient, même si elle n'est pas exceptionnelle.

Sampled at zbf 2018. Thnx for sharing, everyone! Pours unclear copper brown. No real head. Smell is sweet. Mild oak. Taste is sweet. Full, whisky, mild oak. Diacetyl, (very intense). Not great... Earlier Rating: 4/25/2017 Total Score: 2.4Sampled at Zythos 2017. Thnx for sharing, Ruben and Tim ! Pours dark, caramelly brown. Small white head. Smell is dry, dark malts. Taste is full, yet bit plastic smokey. Malty, dry, harsh. Some plastic.

Clear medium golden colour, tall frothy white head, fairly lasting, good lacing. Aroma Belgian yeast, bit banana, coriander, cloves, honey. Taste medium sweet and light bitter, yeasty, fruity, nutty notes. Yeasty sweetbitter aftertaste, orange peel, spicy notes, medium body, watery to creamy texture; lively carbonation; nice.

28/04/2018 – 10cl glass shared with an international ratebeer crew @ZBF2018 Black colour, tanned lacing. Nose is roasted grains, chocolate, caramel. Taste is creamy, bit sweet, roast, chocolate. Earlier Rating: 6/22/2017 Total Score: 3.206/2017 @home - 33cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck. Dark brown to black with no head. Nose is dark malts, mocha, some roast, licorice. Taste is dark malts, hints of mocha and roast, licorice. Missing something in this one to call it great.
