Description

F: “dark pink” but no real only bubbles. C: dark, non-transparent. A: vinous, cherries, dark woody tones, Tabaco, hint of alcohol. T: 0,33l bottle from De Hopduvel in Gent, cherries, tannins, some smoky tones, woods, hint of sour fruity, earthy dry sour on the palate, medium body, ok carbo, for 12% ABV interesting, I think ageing improve this beer.

Bottle at THT massive thanks to kermis. Dark reddish brown with barely any head. Nice cherries on the nose, but then it happens... Rotten cherries, funk, massive alcohol, rye bread, sour herbs, dishwater. Light sweet with alcoholic bitter finish. Over medium bodied with low carbonation.

Hazy amber to copper colored, medium to strong beige creamy head. Aroma is Belgian yeast, fruits, candy sugar, caramel, pumpkin and spices. Taste is quite sweet candy sugar, toffee and caramel, fruits, strong pumpkin and spices, some ripe fruits and bit of tartness, bit of alcohol. Medium+ bodied, average to soft carbonation, sticky syrupy. Way too sweet. (bottle, ’t Brugs Beertje, Brugge, B)

02/10/2015 @home - 33cl bottle from the brewery (1 yeard old). Dark red/brown colour with small fading head. Aroma is some malts, cherries. Taste is dark malts (even some light coffee notes), "Kriek à volonté", light sourness, some red wine. Would swear it aged on red wine barrels. Very nice evolution in 1 year.

330 ml. bottle sampled. Purchased @ Willems & Zoon. BBF JUL2016. BIG GUSHER. Deep copper amber, big collapsing tanned head. Nose is hugely metallic, watery with rotting old herbs, stale lavender, touch metallic caramel, not too good. Taste is manageable but far from optimal, heavily herbal, big cloves, metallic, finish is wet leaves, stale kitchen spices,… Overly fizzy & empty. Faint licorice & varnish. Too flawed.
