12oz bottle pours a murky amber with some very thick, frothy, white head. Nose has a ton of malt and a ton of caramel, dried orange peel, some booze, some cream soda, some red rope licorice. Flavor has a fairly heavy amount of cherry, is it possible infection? Plenty of raisin too, some black peppercorn, some caramel, a little dried apple slices, some orange too. Full, sticky, spicy finish.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle, with a picture of a pug on a skate board wearing a Hawaiian shirt with sunglasses on his head, poured into a weizen glass. Pours hazy golden with small fluffy white head. Aroma is banana, medium body, medium carbonation, and thin small bubble lacing. Taste is grainy, some banana, and hints of clove.

Growler from Patrick. Pours a dark reddish-brown, with a very small, tan head. The aroma is caramel, vanilla, oak, some bready yeast, and molasses. Very sweet, with a very light hop bitterness. Medium to heavy body, creamy, and sticky. Overall, this is a fair beer, with a nice barrel conditioning. The rum barrel is very forward, and it is difficult to pick out much of the base beer.

Bottle picked up by jcnielsen in South Carolina and sent to me recently. Thanks! Pours a golden orange appearance with a light brown head. A touch of celery in the nose but it’s otherwise enjoyable. Spicy, melon fruity hops. Soft mouth feel. Kind of juicy. Some orange fruitiness. Finishes nicely. Only qualm is the slight celery note that I got.

Sample in a flight at the Beer Growler in Alpharetta. Pours a dark reddish-brown, with a medium, tan, frothy head and lots of lacing. Strong aromas of milk chocolate and coffee, with just a touch of dates, coriander, and vanilla. Sweet flavor, with some roasty bitterness, and just a hint of spiciness. Light to medium body, a little watery and thin, and astringent. This is a fairly weak stout, with only token gestures at complexity or depth of flavor.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of jcnielsen I think. Thanks ! Pours a murky dark reddish orange appearance with a cream colored head. Goopy caramel in the nose with sap, Smarties, and tropical fruits. Decent body. Kind of goopy / syrupy mouth feel. Heavy caramel and toffee. Big candy flavor. Pretty high bitterness and moderate to high sweetness. Pass.

Crisp copper and bronze coloured body with a thin, one centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of bright floral and grassy hops with some herbal notes and a good bit of malt in the mix. Medium-bodied; Assertive grassy and floral flavour at first with no malt at all - just some dry hop notes and no depth or backbone. Aftertaste shows more of the hop residue with nothing substantial behind it - just an airy herbal and piney hop flavour with no malt to grasp onto. Overall, a pretty poor offering - the hops show decently, but without any malt, there isn’t too much to this beer - subdued and grassy and that’s about it. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Tampa, Florida on 03-January-2014 for US$1.99 sampled at home in Washington on 18-March-2014.
