Bottle at Chriso’s Xmas Tasting 2015. It pours cloudy dark brown with a small beige head. The nose is sweet roast, toffee, fruit cake, toast and chocolate. The taste is bitter, earthy roast, toast, charred stuff, leather, peppery spice, oiliness and some mild astringency with a dry, toasted finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. I found this a touch harsh and astringent. So-so.

Hazy gold - amber beer, good cream colour head. Airy palate, semi dry and with good fine carbonation. Light malts, touch of creamy sweetness. Nice light citrus peel brings some bitterness. Smooth pine ensues and then some hop spice. Light grapefruit and tropicals. Light semi dry finish. Everything in good balance. A most pleasant IPA.

Tap at Sidedoor. Massive poorly poured head on top of a rhick golden tan body. Pleasant aroma, new school hops and bubblegum. Apricot twang merges really well with the Belgian yeast. Not overwhelming on the palate, this is really a solid example of the style. Big, bold modern hop tones. Juicy apricot freshness. The malts are simple and restrained. The hops are juicy and awesome.

Bottle split at Chriso pre Xmas tasting, 06/12/15. Dark mahogany brown with a decent beige covering. Nose is light roast malt, toffee, spice, dark fruits with a slight tarte come lactic edge. Taste comprises chocolate, dark malt, trace of vanilla, toffee, dark fruit rinds. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok.

Bottle shared at the 10th Annual Epic & Unusual Beer Tasting, 11/29/15. Dark brown, medium fizzy tan head, good retention. Aroma of chocolate and coconut. The taste is coconut, roasted malt, chocolate and citrus. Medium bodied, low carbonation, mild booze.

Bottle shared at the chriso and Ruth pre-Christmas/post-Pigs Ear holiday tasting of 2015 - London. Pours unclear dark brown with a bubbly tan head. The nose holds burnt toast, light cocoa, earth and plastic. Medium sweet flavor with dry chocolate, burnt toffee, earth. Medium bodied with fine carbonation and waxy texture. Earthy cocoa in the finish, light roast, nips of coffee. Not bad.

Bottle. Pours hazy amber, medium beige head, dissipates fairly quickly, some lacing. Aroma is perfume, caramel malts, and pine cones. Flavor is medium sweet and hugely bitter, caramel perfume and pine cones again. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. M.E.H.

Sampled from the tap at Lucette. Pours a clear yellow gold with a white head that dissipates completely. Aroma has notes of flora and citrus supported by sweet grains and grass. Flavor combines flora and citrus with some light fruits and sweet grain supporting.
