Thatchers cider has been made on Myrtle Farm since 1904.

Four generations dedicated to our craft. With a fifth generation waiting in the wings. There’s been a lot of change over the years. But one thing remains constant: cider making is our pride and joy.

Cask at Thomas Gerard JDW (4.9%)... hazy yellow amber ... big apple nose ... sweet appple ... just simple and nice.

Cask handpull at Thomas Ingoldsby, JDW, Canterbury. Hazy pale gold, good apple aroma, lots of apple fruit in mouth, some character of baked apple develops with a slgiht sweetness. Some stewed apple flavour too. OK if a little one dimensional on the baked stewed fruit.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small and slight fizzy head. Aroma is crisp apple fruity, light dryness comes over. Fruity, crisp, sweet and slight towards dry apple fruity into the finish. vague wooden note. Medium carbonation. Citric and dry wooden finish.

Bottle 500ml.Clear light to medium yellow orange color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, white head. Aroma is moderate apple, sweet apple, green apple, light pear. Flavor is moderate sweet and light light acidic with a average to long duration, dry. Body is light to medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20100123]

Bottle 500ml.Clear medium orange color with a small, fizzy, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, white head. Aroma is moderate apple, red apple, ripe apples, light barnyard. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light light acidic with a average duration, a dry finish. Body is medium to light, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20100118]

Cask @ 3 Judges. Cloudy yellow colour, no head. Arom of sour apple, countryside. Flavour is medium sour and yeasty. Well drinkable.

Bottled (vintage 2009). Golden colour, small head. Aroma is rotten apples, wood, earth and some yeasty. Flavour is fruits, earth, sourness and mild yeastyness.

Bottled. Deep golden colour, no head. Aroma is sweet apples, some riped apples as well as some weak tartness. Flavour is sweet apples along with some rotten apples and mild tartness as well.

On tap. Pours a clear golden with no head. Lightly tart, fruity nose but not distinctly pear. Medium body, sweet/tart fruit accents with an underlying light sulphurous note. Fresh and quaffable. 160110

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear yellow with a dissipating white head. Discreet apples in the nose with a tart touch. Medium body, astringent, tart apple notes with a whiff of vanilla sugar. Heavy carbonation. 230110
