Bottle, picked up from Tesco, Aylesbury, Bucks, consumed 01-08-09 This cider is labelled as Tesco Finest Varietal Cider but is clearly this cider. Pours straw coloured with white head quite heavy on the carbonation front. Zippy and zesty appley aroma. Taste is a touch too sweet for me and the carbonation is just a little too much, that said it was refreshing and tangy and went down well with my shared Chicken Jalfrezi and Chicken Balti A6 A3 F6 P3 Ov12 3.0

On tap at Gloucestershire cricket club. This was decidedly odd- I ordered during a quiet time at the bar, so the barman was able to use both Thatcher’s Gold taps at once. One produced a golden heavily carbonated cider, the other an amber moderately carbonated one. I drank the golden one - ok for a sweet cider, albeit in the industrial category but better than both Strongbow and Blackthorn old recipe (goes without saying that the new one is terrible).
