Sample, thanks fonefan! Viscous black, no head. Very sweet with full body and viscous mouthfeel. Lots of treacle, some whiskey and caramel. Maple syrup and treacle dominates. Woody, sticky, warming finish.

Ambery brown colour with a tiny head. Aroma is chocolate syrup, some rye, mild toasted tones with a bit of wood and some alcohol sweetness. Flavour is caramel, some chocolate syrup, mild toasted tones with some slight alcohol and a bit spicy and wooden elements too.

Thanks fonefan! Black colour with a small white head. Aroma is chocolaty, some roasted, mild liquorice with some slight plum, mild figs and a bit aloe veraish easiness to it. Flavour is liquorice, some plum, mild chocolate syrup with some toasted, smoky and mild herbal tones. A bit alcohol and some wooden whisky tones to it too, mostly felt on burning on the gums, not so much in flavour. Intense in a way, but remains on a drinkable, but more to the sipping level.

Pitch black colour, small brown head. Aroma is toasted, some mild roasted and chocolaty tones with mild spiciness as well as some liquorice and mild dried fruits. Flavour is dried fruits, some chocolaty tones with mild roasted toasted and mild sweet dried fruity tones. Alcohol also showing a bit. Funny chantarelle-liquorice tones in the finish.

Some citrus. Pours hazy orange with decent soap bubbles. Finishes pretty clean with just a touch of hay and some bitterness. Tap at Snally.

I feel like I would have liked this a lot more several years ago when it was a novelty, but now that the market is flooded with this kind of pastry stout, it isn't quite as wonderful. It tastes a little candyish. Coconut, chocolate, some spice. It's still well blended, better than most--better than 3 Sons, if we're talking about Florida stouts, for example, but perhaps not as well balanced as Funky Buddha. Finishes bittersweet and tangy. Oily black pour without much head. Snally.
