Description
Op zijn zeventiende vertrok Ramses Snoeij naar zijn vader in Amerika. Rond 1990 werd daar het eerste Ramses Bier gebrouwen in Oregon, aan de westkust van de Verenigde Staten. Na zijn terugkeer in Nederland koos hij in 2007 ervoor zijn brouwhobby commercieel aan te pakken. Zijn eerste commerciële brouwsel was Willem Bever dat in 2007 werd geïntroduceerd. De bieren van Ramses Bier werden aanvankelijk gebrouwen met behulp van de brouwfaciliteiten van Bierbrouwerij De 3 Horne in Kaatsheuvel. Hier werden brouwsels gebrouwen van 700-800 liter. De proefbrouwsels werden in Wagenberg gebrouwen en hadden een volume van 50-60 liter. In februari 2013 werd een eigen bedrijfsruimte opgeleverd met een nieuwe brouwinstallatie die een brouwcapaciteit van 1.500 liter heeft.

On tap at Arendsnest Amsterdam. Pitch black coloured, medium sized brown head, chocolate and roast in the nose. Roasted malt, chocolate, light caramel and chicory with notes of alcohol and wood in the finish.

Dark brown with thin head. Aroma and flavour are sweet and cakey. Lots of malt sugars. Light bitterness in the finish. Strong stuff.

On tap at ANNA. Clear deep golden colour, white head. Aroma of rasberries, light malty, like a Czech fruited lager. Flavour follows, has a bit of a chemical feel to it. Not great tbh.

Hazy medium amber colour, fair ftothy off-white head, mostly diminishing. Aroma sweet malt, red fruits (strawberries, raspberries), light caramel, flowery hops, spicy notes. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, fruity, spicy. Sweetbitter aftertaste, fruity, spicy notes, bit paper. Medium body, oily to watery texture, average carbonation, fresh and fruity.

Opaque ruby brown colour, small creamy tan head, dissipates slowly, sticky lacing. Aroma roasted malt, black currant, candy sugar, cocoa, black coffee, wood notes. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, chocolate, dark coffee, vanilla, wood, some liquorice. Malty sweetbitter aftertaste, chocolate, coffee, wood. Medium body, oily to creamy texture, soft carbonation, very good.

Bottle shared at “Some Beers With Jmgreenuk, December ‘18.dark brown with a ring tan head.  Aroma of toffee, cheesy malt, caramel, light herbs, and light floral notes.  Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate bitter.  Medium to full bodied with alcohol warmth in the finish and soft carbonation.
