Description
Op zijn zeventiende vertrok Ramses Snoeij naar zijn vader in Amerika. Rond 1990 werd daar het eerste Ramses Bier gebrouwen in Oregon, aan de westkust van de Verenigde Staten. Na zijn terugkeer in Nederland koos hij in 2007 ervoor zijn brouwhobby commercieel aan te pakken. Zijn eerste commerciële brouwsel was Willem Bever dat in 2007 werd geïntroduceerd. De bieren van Ramses Bier werden aanvankelijk gebrouwen met behulp van de brouwfaciliteiten van Bierbrouwerij De 3 Horne in Kaatsheuvel. Hier werden brouwsels gebrouwen van 700-800 liter. De proefbrouwsels werden in Wagenberg gebrouwen en hadden een volume van 50-60 liter. In februari 2013 werd een eigen bedrijfsruimte opgeleverd met een nieuwe brouwinstallatie die een brouwcapaciteit van 1.500 liter heeft.

Bottle. pale amber color. Malt, white pepper and yeast in the aroma and flavor. Dryish, yeasty. Some oily citric hops.

Tap. Blonde. Cereals and floral notes in the aroma. Hint of apricot. Pineapple, lemon and apricot in the flavor. Bone dry. Cereals. Very good actually.

Tap @ Arendsnest. Deep dark brown color. Dark cherries, caramel, roast and chocolate in the aroma, roast, dark choclate, a dry sourness and Mon Cheri in the flavor. Bretty finish. Quite nice.

Tap @ Arendsnest. Golden color, apricot and smoke in the aroma and flavor. Malty sweet, soft bretty flavor with a hint of sourness. Very nice.

Fles 33cl thuis. Citrus, zuurtonen, spelt, fris, wel fruitig, niet zoet, heeft niet de volle romigheid van hefeweizen. Atypische weizen. Beetje hinken op twee gedachten. (25-8-2019).

Tap. Murky black colour with no head. Aroma and flavour have a little hop bitterness and treacle sugars. Very watery. No body. Seemingly not ready.

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 14 Feb 2019) Golden amber colour, hazy, with frothy off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of orange peel, hay and spicy yeast. Malty, spicy taste with orange peel, apricots, hay, a touch of brett and a balanced spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and spicy. Quite nice.

6/VII/19 - 33cl bottle @ home, BB: XI/2021 - (2019-986) Thanks to 77ships for sharing the bottle!
Clear reddish brown beer, practically no head, just some big brown bubbles on top. Aroma: quite some soy sauce, bit malty, caramel, dried fruits, some banana peel, CO2, yeasty. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet start, alcohol, caramel, more alcohol, spicy, some nutmeg and cinnamon, more alcohol, dried fruits, little bitter. Aftertaste: dark chocolate, sugary, dried fruits, bitter touch, some alcohol, bit hoppy, soft roast, ripe banana.
