Description
Brewery 't Paenhuys was established in 2010 by hobbybrewer Paul Van Nieulande. A Paenhuys is a brewery. Every village used to have one. The Paenhuys or house of pans puts his brewing equipment at the disposition of the residents of the village. The brewer assisted in brewing the resident’s own recipes. On occasions such as weddings, births or other, a brew was made which could be consumed a few weeks later. The Paenhuys supplied the ingredients and took a part of the brew when it turned out to be delicious. Even today you can brew your own beer at our brewery ‘t Paenhuys.

Reddish brown colour, white head. A bit of a gusher. Sour aroma, yoghurt, caramel, candy, light liquorice and mint. Sour malty flavour, sourmalt, bit sweet, light liquorice (drop) and spices. Lots of carbo. Finish citrus and caramel. Not my favourite.

Bottle shared with Dutchdrebus, Ansjelaah and Martinus. Gusher! Hazy reddish color, medium sized off-white head. Smell and taste malts, some sweetness, some alcohol, a touch of overripe fruits. A bit fizzy carbonation, ok body.

Bottled. An unclear red-brown beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, soap, and fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, over ripe fruits, and straw, leading to a dry finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.
