Bottle from Kisjes Slijterijen, Meppel. Aroma is sturdy spicy rye with grainy malt, hops, mildly fruity, light berries, grapefruit, soft citrus. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and medium bitter. Body is medium. Nice Rye IPA, lots of sturdy rye malts and subtle fruity hops.

Bottle from a local bottle shop. Aroma is dark malt with lots of caramel, toffee, candy sugar, soft fruity notes, and a touch of chocolate, nuts and marzipan. Flavour is pretty sweet with a light bitterness in the finish. Body is medium. A fine sturdy Bock.

Bottle from Sterk Amsterdam. Aroma is powdery cocoa, vanilla, roasted malt, caramel fudge, nuts, milk chocolate, marshmallow. Flavour is sweet with a fairly bitter finish. Body is medium. Quite powdery and sweet with heavy vanilla, not my favourite profile for an Imperial Stout, to say the least.

Bottle from a local bottle shop. Roasted and hoppy aroma with roasted malt, piney hops, chocolate, tropical fruits including grapefruit. Flavour is moderate sweet with a bitter finish. Body is medium. Tasty blend of roast and piney hop, a fine BIPA.

From tap at Woodies, Zwolle. Aroma is sweet caramel malt, spices, candy, notes of dried fruits, liquorice root. Flavour is rather sweet with a moderate bitterness in the finish. Body is medium. The candied sweetness and spices combination doesn't really work for me.

Bottle from Just In Beer, Groningen. Aroma is malty with caramel, soft ripe fruity tones, biscuity malt, light floral hop, mild orange marmalade. Flavour is above moderate sweet and bitter. Body is medium. Malt-forward with subtle fruity and floral notes, easy and enjoyable.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is liquorice with vanilla, spicy rum, wood, raisin, cane sugar, caramel malt, alcohol, and toffee. Flavour is quite sweet with a boozy finish. Body is full. Pretty nice rum character but I'm just not a fan of the base beer, way too heavy on the liquorice. That being said, I enjoyed this one slightly better than the regular Capt. Blackbird.
