Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is liquorice with Bowmore whiskey, wood, peat, roasted malt, caramel, notes of chocolate and vanilla. Flavour is rather sweet with a mild roasty bitterness. Body is full. Fairly smooth, by far the best of the Capt. Blackbirds.

From tap at 9e Noordelijk Kerst- en Winterbieren Festival, Hoogeveen. Aroma is wheaty with soft banana, spicy, bread, yeast, clove, ripe fruits. Sweet and light bitter flavour, medium body. Pleasant enough Weizenbock.

Bottle from Slijterij dranken Center Bert Oppers, Wolvega. Aroma is soft oats, fruity hops, mango, tropical fruits, soft passion fruit, light dextrose. Mild sweetish and bitter flavour, medium body. Some nice oats, soft IPA.

Bottle from Kisjes Slijterijen, Meppel. Aroma is brown malt, caramel, spicy notes, dried fruits, notes of plums and figs. Flavour is fairly sweet with a moderate bitterness. Body is medium. On the sweet side, but nice, dig the dried fruits.

Draft. Fourth one of flight at House of Bird Kwintelooijen, half way during a hike from Amerongse Berg to Kwintelooijen and back. Color: Black, brown head. Aroma: Maple, caramel and chocolate fudge. Taste: Quite a lot of sweet maple, caramel and chocolate fudge, vanilla, hints of soy sauce and roasted malt. Hoppy hints. Over medium body, below average carbonation. Bit sticky. Over medium sweet, moderate bitterness. Sweet but nice.

From tap at Het Refter, Zwolle. Aroma is roasty with fruity and piney hop, citrus, some grapefruit. Some dark malts, hint of chocolate. Medium bitter flavour. Body is medium. On the fruity side of BIPA, some roast and cocoa. Fine.
