Bottle from the brewery, now written 7.0% ABV on label. Pours a clean light amber colour with a golden hue. Nice head that stays a while and creates some great lacing. Citrus aromas with mild pine and tea notes. Some light grass in the taste holding the whole way with some nice malt and citrus. Good bitterness, but not a hop bomb, which makes this a beautiful classic IPA (which you don’t see much nowadays).

First of two Cassel brews tonight. Purchased at the brewery. Pours a clean deep amber colour with a beige head and some creamy lacing. Aromas of caramel, toffee and roasted malts. Fruity flavours with caramel notes. Hints of nuts. Nothing too crazy, but does the job for a red ale.

Draught @ Fresco, Pembroke, ON. Pours hazy copper brown with small off-white head. Clear aroma of malt and fruit, with touches of honey and notes of yeast. Sweetish flavour of malt, fruit and honey, with some acidic and hoppy notes and touches of yeast. Honey and fruit in the aftertaste, with some estery touches. Drinkable but nothing special.

Pours a hazy golden colour with a white cap and a little lacing. Nicely light-hopped brew with lots of grain in the finish. With time, the grass gets stronger. Beautiful nose blended with soapy hops and grainy malts. Refreshing and medium-bodied. Quite a nice brew for a lower alcohol content with a good balance between the grain and the hops.

Bottle: Poured an amber color ale with a large foamy head with OK retention and some light lacing. Aroma of grainy malt notes with some sweet honey notes is OK. Taste is dominated by some grainy malt with light unrefined notes and some honey notes also noticeable. Body is full enough with good carbonation. OKish but need to clean up a little but the malt bill.

Pint at the Arrow & the Loon, with a 9.2% ABV. written. Pours a hazy amber colour with minimal lacing. A very sweet nose of malt with Macintosh apple notes. Again, sweet malt flavours with alcohol and apples. Pretty decent strong ale with sweet notes of apples (not much maple though).

Golden Rail is a clear amber pour with a nutty caramel aroma. It’s medium-bodied with a bitter nutty caramel crystal malty sweet flavor. OK.

White fog pours a cloudy light straw gold. It has a so-so cardboardish nose. A light zesty bode with a flavor that isn’t so bad, orange zest + light spice on a thin watery body.
