In der Nase ist das Fass deutlich auszumachen. Und Fassreifung in Weinfässern ist eigentlich echt nix für mich. Umso überraschter bin ich, dass das hier echt gut harmoniert. Herrlich cremig, lecker, Trauben, dazu der Schuss Trappistenschnack, geiles Teil.

12 oz. can from Spec's, Boerne, TX. Happy Easter! Pours a semi-clear orange-bronze color with a small beige head and fair retention. Fair lacing too. Aroma of pumpkin and light spices. The taste follows the nose. Pumpkin and caramel flavor mixed with mellow pie spices. As the can suggests, this has more beer flavor than most pumpkin beers. It’s not just a spice bomb. Low carbonation. Medium-light body. Soft mouthfeel and finish. Not bitter. Good, and repeatable.

35cl Blik van Beer Republic. Denk dat deze de reis overzees niet overleefd heeft. Donker goudgele kleur, witte kraag. Aroma valt nog mee, redelijk wat citrus, mandarijn. Smaak is behoorlijk zuur, bitter, niet zoals het hoort. Jammer.

Can from Beer Republic. Clear brown, thin, tan head. Aroma of peanut, chestnut, walnut, toast, hard caramel. Taste has sweetish raisin, caramel and bitter nuts, bit toasty. Herbal hoppy finish, nuts along dried fruits, touch of brown bread. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Not much going on, just a gentle Brown Ale.
