Description
With a foundation in homebrewing in 1992, Paul Kavulak set about to experiment within a hobby that would prove both entertaining and, at times, refreshing. Over a period of roughly 13 years, and with the able assistance of his wife Kim, this activity led to the opening of the Nebraska Brewing Company’s brewpub in Shadow Lake Towne Center in Papillion, Nebraska, on November 17, 2007. A new production brewery and taproom were opened in January of 2014. Located on the south side of the Omaha Metro, but still a large part of the Omaha Craft Beer scene.

Growler from the brewers via bu11zeye. Pours with a eggshell colored head and a clear amber body. Aroma of earthy hops, caramel and florals. Taste is pine and floral. Light carbonation and a dry finish. To be real honest, I enjoyed the Pale Ale quite a bit more.

Growler from the brewer’s via bu11zeye. Pours with a small white head and a clear golden body. Nice aroma of herbal and grassy hops, light caramel. Quite floral. Taste is flowery, floral and hoppy. Really good and exceptionally drinkable. Light bubbles and low residual sugars. Well crafted.

Growler thanks to bu11zeye and the brewers. Pours with a small white head that fades over a hazy golden body. Aroma of banana esters, wheat and some husky grain. Taste is like Perrier, watery with wheat and banana. Dry and fizzy mouthfeel.

Growler thanks to bu11zeye and the brewers. Lots of carbonation left on this growler. Huge white head with some great lace left behind above the clear golden body. Aroma of pine, orange, citrus, light grass and alcohol. Taste is caramel, alcohol, grass, hops and a bit of spicy yeast. Light bubbles and a dry mouthfeel.

Bottle, batch 1 thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a large, foamy white head over a hazed golden body. Aroma is strongly chardonnay, with wood, citrus, light tartness, florals and dry oaky tannins. Taste is sweet oak, grapes, dryness and a bit of light tartness to the finish. Tons of wood and caramel as well. Possibly a bit of Brett C. Lively bubbles. Excellent!

Beer #3 from GTMW. Very bright, almost a pilsener color, clean with a short head. Light bittering hop aroma, no overdone pine or citrus here. Mouthfeel is very spritzy as befits a summer beer.

750 ml bottle shared by heemer77. Pour is yellow, golden, ruby, hazy with a 1/2 inch white head. Aroma of oak woodiness, sweet grassiness, white wine chardonnay. Taste is buttery, fully oaked white wine, chardonnay. All layered on top of a nice Blonde ale. Interesting, certainly unique. The wine notes do layer nicely on top of the beer. Palate is medium, clean enough. Thanks Eric.

750mL bottle poured into a larger La Face Cachée long stemmed tuliped-copita glass. The pour is beautiful and thick with a glowing golden color and a thick head that fades rather quickly. Aroma is strong white grape with a bright oakiness (not buttery at all, literary just oak). Behind that is a Belgian yestiness (dough) with a thick sweetness and lots of floral yeast notes. It is a beautifully bountiful aroma. Taste back is up with with the white wine coming through hard. The Belgian dough yeast sweetness is light. Its a full beer but so easy to drink, so smooth on the tongue and cheeks, like a pillow caressing my mouth. I was seriously impressed.

Named Blackshirt Porter, pretty sure its the same thing, probably just did not have a name wen it was first brewed. Sampler at the brewpub. Clear very dark brown color. Aroma is faintly prune and very roast-y. Taste starts with a lot of ashy coffee. Then there is a mineral feel that dissipates most of the flavor except for a little bit of sweetness and woodsiness. Easy drinking brew otherwise.

Sampler at the brewpub. Comes to the table completely murky with a thick glowing yellow color. Cannot see through the beer whatsoever. Aroma is lots of coriander and lemon, love it. Taste is a bit mellowed but still plenty of coriander. The beer has a slight thicker mouthfeel for the style. Finishes with an earthy/herbal aftertaste.
