Description
With a foundation in homebrewing in 1992, Paul Kavulak set about to experiment within a hobby that would prove both entertaining and, at times, refreshing. Over a period of roughly 13 years, and with the able assistance of his wife Kim, this activity led to the opening of the Nebraska Brewing Company’s brewpub in Shadow Lake Towne Center in Papillion, Nebraska, on November 17, 2007. A new production brewery and taproom were opened in January of 2014. Located on the south side of the Omaha Metro, but still a large part of the Omaha Craft Beer scene.

On tap @ Sunset Grill in Allston,MA. Pours a nice deep amber brown with a good lasting white head and super thick lacing. Very nice coating on the way down. Aroma is burnt toast with butter on it. Flavor is earthy, nutty, toast, and caramel malts, earthy in the end dries out nicely. The finish is a smooth butter mouthfeel. I really liked this brew.

Draft at Rattle N Hum. Cloudy, pale gold body with a white, showly diminishing head. Aroma of banana, clove, sweet wheat. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Light to medium body, thin texture and lively carbonation. Pretty standard with the banana and clove in the aroma and flavor. Not as slick in the mouthfeel as you’d expect from a wheat beer. The finish has a bit of a homebrew twang. Average.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of bu11zeye. Pours a cloudy amber with a small and creamy off-white head. Heavy, heavy whiskey aroma. Medium body, a little low in carbonation, dry caramel notes, lots of wood here with an underlying tart and slightly salty edge. Not excessively hoppy but quite some alcohol burn in the finish. 241010

Location: Sampled at the NY Brewfest on Governor's Island, 6/19/10

Aroma: The nose had some grass, pine, caramel, and yeast to it
Appearance: It pours a hazy golden-copper color with a white head
Flavor: The taste is mostly bitter with a light, underlying sweetness as well
Palate: This one is medium bodied, it has a dry mouthfeel and a nice drinkability
Overall Impression: Overall, I thought this was a pretty solid Pale Ale. It leans toward the dry side for sure, but seems to be reasonably solid. Something I would drink again, but ultimately, it's just alright.
