Description
With a foundation in homebrewing in 1992, Paul Kavulak set about to experiment within a hobby that would prove both entertaining and, at times, refreshing. Over a period of roughly 13 years, and with the able assistance of his wife Kim, this activity led to the opening of the Nebraska Brewing Company’s brewpub in Shadow Lake Towne Center in Papillion, Nebraska, on November 17, 2007. A new production brewery and taproom were opened in January of 2014. Located on the south side of the Omaha Metro, but still a large part of the Omaha Craft Beer scene.

Bottled. An unclear golden beer with a lazing off-white head. The aroma has notes of hops and grapefruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of lemon, malt, grapefruit, and alcohol, leading to a dry finish.

Bottle via a trade with bu11zeye. Pours with a hazy, but vibrany golden body with a large white head that lasts. Aromas are big time chardonnay wine barrels, funk, dried stone fruit, oaks, light acid and light phenols. Flavors of white wine, lightly tart, oak, chardonnay, dry, peppery, juicy apricot and other stone fruit. Phenols. Slight funk. Dry, elegant, lively carbonation. A very good beer!

Handbottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a hazy golden body and a small white head. Aroma of sweet and slightly spiced. Obvious and strong stonefruit notes that are not unpleasant. A little bit of cotton candy. Taste is dry, candi sugar, pepper and a bit of tangy apricot. A bit herbal/grainy. Long, dry, grainy finish. Good saison. Another solid beer from NBC!

Courtesy of markwise. Pours out copper with tan head. The aroma is pure whiskey with thin veins of vanilla and oak. I guess there’s beer in here somewhere too. Hmm. Don’t smell any beer. OK. The taste is all barrel booze, just like the nose, with straight up fortified whiskey, some vanilla and modest levels of oak. They did put beer in the barrel, right?

Pour os a copper with a average white head. Aroma is a very nice citrus hop. Very resiny. Flavor is again a decent hop with some caramel malt. LIke the hop god this one is also kinda watery toward the end. Servicable west coast IPA.

Pour is a peach color with a large white head. Aroma is banana with some sugar and yeast. Flavor is more banana with some spicy hops. Kinda a big alcohol kick toward the end and finishes with some candi sugar. Ok beer and decent for a sample but woulden’t need again as its very light and watery toward the end and the alcohol is there is a big way.

Sampled on draft at the Headkeeper this beer poured a hazy pale yellow color with a small white head that left no lacing. The aroma was lemon, pepper, dryish and a touch musty. The flavor was dry lemon, pepper and touches of must and coriander. The finish was tart lemon and must. Light body. Very refreshing. Solid.

Sampled from a 750 ml brown bottle this beer poured a black color with an enormous creamy dark brown head that lingered forever and left great lacing. The aroma was very much lacking in subtlety and hit you over the head with whiskey, cocoa and coffee - but was too harsh with these. The flavor was harsh and bitey whiskey, oak, coffee and vanilla with undertones of cola and raisin. Exceptionally boozy with whiskey really overwhelming and distracting from anything else. The finish was long with whiskey, oak and coffee lingering forever. Full bodied. Decent but very flawed.
