Description
Love Lane Brewing is based in the heart of Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle, voted the “coolest” district in the UK. We’re keeping the city’s proud brewing heritage alive, with a new brewery and distillery.
In 2016, we began the transformation of our Liverpool base, renovating an old rubber factory into a 18,000 hectolitre Brewery, capable of brewing 3.2 million pints. Our family of beers and gins are all made under one roof.
Liverpool Craft was founded in 2011. Liverpool Craft bought in the Higsons Brewery name in 2018 at he same time the brewery changed name to Love Lane Brewery. Brewing started at the current venue in 2019. Cask beers are produced using the Higson's name, keg beers using Love Lane.

Can from Lidl, Harrow Weald at a mere £2.50. Dark brown to black. Lots of chocolate, black coffee, a light roasty note, and a touch of blackcurrant. The alcohol is evident but not overly so. Really nice mouthfeel and surprisingly drinkable for the strength. Better than many beers that certain overhyped breweries are selling at 3 or 4 times the price.

Tight white head stayed on finely carbonated pale amber coloured body. Tobacco, burnt & malt aroma. Medium to thin bodied, smooth with a lively clean back. Nutty, biscuit, grainy, tobacco & bitter tastes with a lightly hopped finish. Decent Lager.

Pours quite dark with a tiny choclate-coloured head. You smell the the whisky and get notes of toffee, dark choclate and malt. Very pleasant atse with a commbination of dark beer and wisky, almost like a cocktail. Long aftertase of dark choclate. Very much enjoying it.

Can from Lidl Supermarket, Todmorden. Clear golden with a small head. Mid-malty ale, its taste doesn't get much beyond that.

Incredible value can from Lidl Inverurie. It pours jet black with a dark tan head, which dissipates. The aroma is rich roasted, dark chocolate, umami, tarry, liquorice, earthy, coffee grounds and a touch of pipe tobacco. The taste is bitter - sweet, rich roasted malt, slick, toothy, chewy, dark chocolate, cacao, earthy, dark roast coffee grounds, toasty, slight charred, umami, liquorice and only a wee kick of alcohol with a rich, chewy roasted finish. Medium to fulsome body and average carbonation. Funny to thinks it's almost novel to have a straight forward non adjunct imperial stout. Works well. Could drink by the pint, but probably wouldn't be my best plan. Solid stuff and brilliant value.

440ml can. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a short-lived, frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, light toffee caramel. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a smooth, rich, slightly oily, roasty, liqourice, light toffee fudge, chocolate, coffee, light dry pepper spice palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.
