Description
Since 1926, brewing has no longer been a matter of chance at Bénifontaine, but rather is an art which has been passed down from generation to generation. From microbrewery to family business, Castelain Brewery has had a loyal following thanks to its artisanal beers and its respect for tradition. Thoroughness, patience, authenticity: these have been the key words for Castelain bières de garde and seasonal beers since the creation of the brewery.

Old rating - A 330ml bottle, 5.5 ABV. A enjoyable hoppy Belgium ale. Different bottle of beer in my home No. 1973

Brownish orange pour from bottle. A malty essence and some choppy floral notes. Pretty decent.

Bière dégustée en terrasse à la maison, session pale ale agréable et facile. Robe blond trouble, mousse blanche fine, plutôt persistante. Nez discret mais plaisant, avec des notes de malt doux et d'agrumes (zeste de citron, un peu de pamplemousse). En bouche, c’est léger et fruité, bien houblonné sans excès, avec une finale sèche et légèrement amère. Fraîche et bien équilibrée, idéale pour l’apéro. Rien d’extravagant mais bien faite. Sympa !

Old rating from 2013 - 650ml flip top bottle. Pours clear golden with a white foamy head. Aromas & tastes of citrus, lemon, orange, honey, coriander, grass, hints of spices & light malt. Moderate body. Dry finish.

old rating from 2013 - 330ml bottle, pours a copper colour with a large foamy white head. Aromas & tastes of citrus, caramel, toffee, biscuit & malt. Medium body. Slight bitter finish

500ml can. Pours a hazed pale yellow, loose white head. Lightly floral nose with soft wit glimpse. Fairly weak blanche profile to taste.. industrial tone with strange sugary sweet tangents.. chemical hints.. not the best.

Nice tropical, citric, peach notes, hazy golden, white lace. Medium body, dry chewy mouthfeel, quite pleasant.
