Description
Põhjala Brewery is the brainchild of three friends and beer aficionados who, like many a future craft brewer, got tired of the tasteless watery lagers that the faceless megacorporations have saturated the beer market with.

We brew small batches of hand crafted ales, using the best malts, loads of mostly New World hops and a relentless passion for good beer. When creating our beers, we are inspired by Nordic nature, Estonian new cuisine and the work of our fellow microbrewers in the U.S., UK and Scandinavia who, in our opinion, are leading the craft beer revolution.

In hops we trust!

440ml can from the Beer Bank, Kuala Lumpur City Centre. Poured a clear yellow golden colour with a lasting frothy white head and some broken lace. The aroma is bready yeast, light floral. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a crisp, fresh, bready, light herbal, light dry spicy, hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Dark brown, no head. Cocoa, that sort of thing, lowish bitterness, doesn’t hit any Baltic notes…not Saku Porter, Tartu Porter, or anything else. Trying to be American, but without hops, this is a very weird miss, just a concept that distracts work.

Bottle shared by Joen. Dark brown to black color, average sized light to medium brown colored head. Aroma and flavor are malts, soft roast, roasty bitter, bitter finish that lingers. Quite solid, but I dont really get the maple that clearly tbh. Oh well, nice beer nonetheless!
