On the outskirts of Billund, just a stone's throw from the expansive Jutland heaths, lays Dansk Mjød. A traditional brewery which has brewed mead since 1994 on the basis of old recipes and with an uncompromising focus on quality and ingredients. It is the endless stories and myths about mead, which still inspire Dansk Mjød to create products that combine the ancient brew craft and tradition with a modern eye for quality and tastes.

Clear deep golden with no head. Yeah surprise surprise. Fruity, flowery, honey and alcohol in both aroma and flavor. Decent mead if you ask me.

Hot vodka nose, only hints of honey. Clear amber, legs. Very sweet honey, very hot. Some walnut notes appear as it breathes. Some pear on the back end. Medium body, smooth. Cloying and alcohol presence is ridiculous.

Bottle shared during the RBESG 2014 London Grand Tasting - Moncada Brewery. Pours lightly hazy gold. A huge wintery spice aroma gives way to an equally massive sweetness in the flavor, with notes of maple syrup, cinnamon and, of course, rich and heavy honey. Full in body, chewy. Warming on the finish with bracing sweetness, bread, honey, lingering Christmas spices. Awesome stuff. Quite decadent.

Bottle - Christmas spice and honey. Cloudy gold with no head. Sweet Christmas spice and a liquor like heat, consistency and sweetness. The ultimate fireside drink.
