05/05/2013 Ma che siete a fà (375ml bottle). Ambrata, limpida, schiuma leggerissima, virtualmente assente, con bolle grossolane, che scompare rapidamente. Naso magnifico, sentori di pasta lievita e frutta, un bel carattere vinoso. In bocca è leggermente acida, molto morbida e discreta, forse un po’ leggerina. Corpo esile, carbonazione bassa. Lambic di buona fattura, pulito e dalla ottima beva, ma manca un po’ di carattere.

06/04/2013 Ma che siete venuti a fà (tap). Ambrata con riflessi color rame, appena torbida, schiuma leggerissima che scompare dopo pochi istanti. Naso magnifico, note di frutta matura evidenti, ossidazione, quindi emerge una nota di cacao mista a un non so che di vaniglia (la carruba?) e un leggero etilico, note vinose. In bocca ha un attacco dolciastro, nette note di caramello e un po’ di cacao, quindi evolve con note più complesse, leggermente acidule, che rimandano ai vini rossi. Corpo medio-pieno, carbonazione leggerissima. Barley Wine ancora giovane, ma molto promettente!

06/04/2013 Ma che siete venuti a fà (tap). Dorata, torbida, schiuma bianca abbondante e persistente. Al naso sentori lievi di affumicato e luppolo, equilibrata ed elegante, abbastanza pulita. In bocca ha una grande beva, affumicato leggero, un discreto amaro, buona secchezza nel finale e una leggera, gradevole sapidità. Corpo leggero, carbonazione corretta. Bella birra, ben fatta, da bere a secchiate.

27/10/2012 La Tana (tap). Dorata intensa, leggermente torbida, schiuma discreta, mediamente persistente. Al naso è un colorito bouquet di luppoli, con note floreali, erbacee, agrumate (ma non così intense come mi aspettavo) e sentori di malto. In bocca è equilibrata, malto presente ma non eccessivo, niente caramello, luppolo ben dosato, secca e pulita. Corpo medio, carbonazione corretta. Non era il massimo della freschezza, ma comunque è una signora birra.

Tap at Ma Che, 11/02/13. Light black with a thinnish/medium sized bubbly tan head that retains well. Nose is pine, hops, bitter grapefruit. Taste comprises tropical fruits, bitter grapefruit, light chocolate, hops, pine. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, decent level of bitterness in the finish. Good quality Cascadian Dark fayre !!!

Cask at Ma Che, 11/02/13. Very dark mahogony brown (light black when not in the light) with a frothy tan head. Nose is liqourice, toffee, chocolate, dark malts, touch of coffee. Taste comprises roast malt, chocolate, spice, molasses, liqourice. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry finish, Decent enough.

Bottle 330ml.Unclear medium to dark amber orange colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, pine, grapefruit, orange - citrus, hop oil. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, hop oil, dry, hoppy, fruity. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20121217]

Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, toasted - caramel, light heavy hoppy, grass, orange - citrus, grape notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and heavy bitter with a long to average duration, dry, hoppy. Well balanced hops and malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20121216]

Bottle 250ml. @ home.Hazy matt medium amber colour with virtually none head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, tart berry, grape, wine, cherry stones, alcohol, light wood. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet, light to moderate acidic and moderate bitter with a long duration, tart wine, grape, warm fruit, alcohol, cherry stones, tart berry. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is flat, finish feel is light alcoholic. Very nice balanced - NICE ;O) [20130102]
