Description
110 years of Contreras in a 190 year old brewery. In 1818 Brewery Latte was founded as a typical farm-brewery. In the second half of the 19th century the company was led by Valère Latte who sold the brewery in 1898 to René Contreras. In 1920 René Contreras chose to sell his brewery to his nephew Marcel Contreras. it was Marcel who would transform the brewery into a modern 20th century company. He shaped the buildings as they currently still remain. In 1982 Marcel's son Willy became the sole manager of the brewery. At the start of the 21st century Ann Contreras, the only daughter of Willy Contreras, and her fiancée Frederik De Vrieze gradually took over the daily management of the brewery.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 6.5%. Hazy dark brown colour, moderate beige head. Aroma of malts, caramel, raisins, dark dried fruits. The aroma has some sweetness with notes of brown kandij sugar and caramel, but not too much. Also malts and dark dried fruits, moderate hops in the finish. Well balanced and nice to drink. Would happily buy again.

330ml bottle. Pours misty gold, overly large white head. Aroma is fresh and floral. Taste is clean, smooth, lightly sweet Belgian blonde yeast, bready with a light fruity hop edge. Easy-going.

Bottle, 750 ml from Beergium. Shared with rest at the grand tasting 11/2016. Pours cloudy yellow with medium creamy white head. Malty, light fruit, average yeast, bit spicy. Light to moderate sweetness, thin. Haven’t expected much, but still a bit of disappointment.

Bottle at home thanks to deanso. Dark brown with some yeast in it and a nice dark beige head. Looks promising. Light earthy notes, dried figs, raisins, cocoa. There’s some moldy herbs and watery alcoholic notes. There’s definately some nice malts going on here, but the moldy and earthy notes in the background ruin that a bit. Medium sweet with some alcoholic bitterness. Medium bodied with watery feel. Not very good.
