"Bembel with Care Apfelwein Gold", Dose von REWE Fronhausen, 14.11.2025. - Blaßgelb, durchsichtig. - In der Nase noch ein wenig interessant mit Anklängen an Quitte und herben Apfelmost, im Antrunk nur noch fruchtig-süß apfelmostig. Die zart honigartige hohe Restsüße bringt auch leise Quittennoten mit sich, doch fehlen herbe, trockene Apfelaromen. - Simples, massentaugliches Supermarktprodukt ohne Tiefgang, doch angenehm und rund.

500ml can from a getrankemarkt in Frankfurt. Pours a very pale, clear gold. Aroma of commercial, artificially-sweetened supermarket can cider, which the flavour profile also delivers. Strongbow-esque. Not for me.

500ml can from REWE Frankfurt. Pours a clear pale gold, sparkling water level carbonation. Light green apple nose. Seems very watered down to taste, thin, light green apple citric shades, very drying close. Bit offended by this if I'm honest, why water down perfectly good cider??

Clear golden. It’s Apfelwein with peach ice tea, which overpowers the Apfelwein. Minimal sourish, with some sweetness and bitterness from the peach black ice tea. Light bodied, watery texture, lively carbonated, dry sweet and sour finish. It’s quite refreshing and very simple.

A clear golden colour, small white head. Aroma of sweet apple and peach. Taste of tart apples, sulfur, some peach.

Can from the REWE in Tittling. Clear yellow-golden body, off-white head. Sweetish-dusty tart apple aroma. Lean, dry, tart taste, quite simplistic, empty, but not bad, light fermentation touches, tart green apples, fairly soft, drinkable, not terribly engaging though. Okay, run of the mill Apfelwein. Used half of it for Bolognese sauce as I ran out of white wine, so hope it works!

0.5l bottle from the REWE in Tittling. Brownish amber body, no head. Low caramel, cola on a pretty tart cider background. Lean, dry, dusty taste, some cola, definitely, astringent. Quite empty, and the base seems to be one of those exceedingly simple sour German apple wines- Ends really sour. I mean, it's not a terrible beverage, the cola syrup countered some tooth enamel destroyer of a cider from murdering someone, it seems, and we need to thank it for its service. Would I buy it again? Uncertain.
