Description
At the Frome Brewing (previously Milk Street) Company we work with an extremely talented and knowledgeable team of brewers. We pride ourselves on producing the highest quality beers and we're not going to send anything out of our doors that we wouldn't want to drink ourselves. We do like to experiment - but more importantly, we're all about balancing delicate flavours to produce easy drinking beers.

In other words... "it's all about the beer!"

Brewing takes place up to five times a week, with malt from Warminster, hops from Charles Faram and our very own yeast. Our yeast, which is a similar strain to Youngs, is particularly versatile. Our beers are all vegan (but they're not gluten free).

Gravity cask at Early Doors, Daventry. Black and almost impenetrable to light with a small smattering of khaki head. Ashen aroma, light notes of espresso, heady cream. the sweet taste brings forth lots of liquorice, more sugared espresso, some caramel. A bit too much liquorice for my personal taste. Body is just a bit watery and fairly flat. Overall a pretty good beer but could do with a little more character.

The Gulp is a river in Belgium. This gulp has also been flowing down my palate, quite full-bodied too. Lacks a bit of flavour but mainly hoppy notes with a hint of fruit that are more than palatable.

Cask at Bull & Stirrup, Chester. Pours a slightly hazy golden brown with minimal off-white head and good lacing. There’s nuts and autumn fruits in the aroma. In the mouth there is a little sweetness at first before bitterness comes through to dominate with a creamy texture (but not overly bitter). Flavour has traditional hops and malts at first with hints of ginger and herbs coming later. Bitterness lasts into the finish. This is a decent old school English style IPA.

Sights & Swills Summer Holiday Beer#15. POOLE. More avoiding the sights with it being monsoon season seemingly mid-afternoon in the town. Golden with a frothy-bubbly head. Session hoppy, but with a good body, and a good mouthfeel in the palate. Bitter-sweet.

A pint from the cask at the Griffin. A dark amber colour with slim off white head. Aromas of fruity. Body is a bit watery. Disappointing.
