Description

Bottle drunk watching Homelander terrorize his own childhood torturers. Whoops. Clear gold, nice tall head. Mild nose, flavor is slim for a Bock, only some moderate sweetness with a good bold hop note that balances well. Caramel aftertaste. Pretty one dimensional flavor though, it's not a super complex affair.

Bottle from 8 Degrees Plato. Pours a clear straw gold with a full two fingers of white foam. Soft aromas of honey, herbal hops and mineral. Crackery malt on the palate more floral honey notes. Great lacing down the glass. Honeyed bread on the front, light mineral and herbal bitterness on the finish. Very enjoyable. Glad to see this available stateside.

Drunk from a glass at Klenze 17. Good head, lightly malty nose. The flavor is very reminiscent of an actual, alcoholic Helles. I mean, it's astounding how much better this is than the average alcohol free: nice hop notes, reasonable body that doesn't just taste of wort, not too sweet. Hint of acidity to balance it out. Great job Augustiner!

Bottle at the Garchinger Augustiner. Ever so slightly paler than the normal Helles, nice lace. Very light grain note, hops and yeast notes are on point. Pleasant chewy, light mineral or metal, quite drinkable.

Bottle. Golden, clear. A tad sweet, but just a tad. Full, even round, bit sweet. Nice bitterness, hardly not sticky. This works.

Bottle at Garchinger Augustiner. Chillhazy yellow-golden color with white head. Aroma is slightly sulphuric classic Augustiner yeast, citric, dash of malt sweetness, some hops there. Taste is the same, just a dash of wort, bitter enough finish very close to the real thing. Super oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very solid product!

500 ml bottle, finally! Clear golden with a big stable fluffy head. Grain, bread, seasalt, citrus, some corn, slightly metallic, wort and honey. Dry sourness, salty, grainy sweetness and metallic bitterness. Medium to light bodied, oily texture, lively carbonated, dry citrusy metallic grainy bittersweet finish with a sour hint. It’s incredible how close this on the regular Augustiner Helles actually is, a very good NA beer!
