Description
Steel City Brewing is a brewing company with a very new world outlook on life! Rather than buying our own brewery - with all the associated cost and hassle that entails - we have decided, initially at least, to become what's known in Europe as a "Cuckoo" brewery... We started off doing our first brews at The Brew Company, before capacity issues saw us move to Little Ale Cart, where we spent three years proving even the most Heath-Robinson brew kit can be used to make good beer! We then outgrew the kit moved to Toolmakers brewery, before moving again to Lost Industry in 2016.

When we started we were (and still are) huge fans of hops and there just weren't enough brewers in the UK using them, even though that sounds ridiculous in today's beer world. So, rather than moaning into our beer, we thought we'd do something about it and brew some of our own! Over time as the beer scene evolved, there was less need for our style of hoppy beers since everyone was brewing with them so we evolved too and widened our style portfolio.

Bottle thanks to Gazza at Kernel. It pours orange with a foamy white head. The nose is herbal, menthol, juicy orange citrus fruit and pine. The taste is juicy orange citrus fruits, wood, resin, oily hop, some herb, hay and spice, with a long bitter finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. I like this even though it has Sorachi in it!

Bottle @ RBESG 2011 Grand Tasting at Dean Swift. It’s a light hoppy beer with decent body. Carries the hops well.

Bottled at chriso’s. Cloudy pale golden, brief coarse head. Big time tropical fruit hop aroma. Dry and slender, intensely hoppy with swetay peach and pineapple. Massive bitterness. A nuclear hop bomb.

Bottled at chriso´s. Hazy deep golden, small head. Oily citrus and gooseberry aroma. Hpo driven with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Mid sweet with pears and black currant. Really bitter finish, but would never have been able to guess that the IBU was this high.
