Description
For nearly twenty five years, our mission here at Smuttynose has remained the same: to brew the best beer we can in a way we can be proud of. That includes honoring New England’s rich beermaking history, respecting our environment, and playing an active role in our community.
We value creativity, quality, authenticity and sustainability, but it really boils down to making great beers to enjoy with friends and family. We hope you love drinking our beers as much as we love brewing them. Cheers!

A very well balanced IPA. Got it from my father after he got it in a blind buy. Nice color to it. No taste really sticks out more than any other, rather each taste compliments the other. I don’t think that this is amongst the best IPAs, but it certainly is one of the most balanced and drinkable IPAs. Alcohol taste was subtle and everything was in check. Love the label, but think that the name is just weird.

Bottle courtesy of Mr_Kimchee: Poured a hazy light amber color ale with a medium slightly off-white foamy head. Aroma of citrus hops is well balance with caramel malt. Taste of caramel malt is well mixed with some citrus hops. Body is above average and low filtration level makes this even more enjoyable. Another solid beer in this fine brewery line-up.

An unclear red-orange beer with a lazing orange head. The aroma is light malty and light hoppy. THe flavor is sweet malty with notes of oranges and peaches, and a slight hoppy bite, leading to a very bitter and dry finish. The alcohol burns the mouth slightly.

An orange beer with a beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of fruit - especially oranges. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and quite a lot of fruit, leading to a dry bitter end. Compared to the French farmhouse ales and Belgian Saisons, this is a very clean beer.

This beer came to me in my beer club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a ruby-caramel color with a medium sized yellow-tan head. The aroma is nutty malts and floral hops. The flavor is vague bitter fruity hops with a bit of nutty malts and a tangy finish. The beer is lacking in sufficient malt body and comes off as being a little thin.

This beer came to me in my beer club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a pale golden color with a small soapy white head. The aroma is grainy dry wheat, pepper and hints of citrus. Aromatically reminiscent of a Belgian WIt. The flavor is citrus, wheat and tangy sweet malts. The finish is long and sweet. Quite tasty.

Bottled. Opaque black, small tan head. Roasted, hoppy, dark coffee aroma. Taste is short: hoppy, bitter, chocolate, cold coffee. Aftertaste has hops. Balanced imperial stout and very American.
