Poured an orangy yellow from the bottle with a sudsy white head. Aroma is hoppy, fruity, and almost smells like soap. Initial flavor is fruity, citrus like orange and unusually fizzy. Hoppy flavored finish which is slightly acidic and a little soapy. A little too bitter and acidic to be great, but still pretty good.

Pours dark gold into a tulip. Micro head quickly dissipates to blot the surface. Sweet citrus and pine notes. Full with upfront sweet caramel with a lasting bitter citrus finish.

bottle - This beer has a light amber pour with a moderate head. Quality hops make for a pleasant aroma. It tastes moderately hoppy with well balanced caramel malts. The finish is bitter and seems a touch off. This is pretty good.

bottle - Pours dark brown with a medium head that lingers awhile. The aroma is caramel malt with a little hops creeping in there. It has a sweet, toasted malt taste with mild hops and some chocolate notes. The palate is medium to full bodied and smooth, and the finish is crisp and lightly bitter. This is a great example of a brown ale.

Big bottle purchased from Harris Teeter, Charlottesville. 2006 bottling. Pours murky amber with a small, soft beige head. Heavy citrus hops in the nose. Extreme hop taste, with some citrus and a finish of pepper.

12 oz bottle. Pours muted golden with lacing in a tulip glass. Cannot see through the beer. Aroma is all fishy wheat with hints of lemon. Mouthfeel is nicely full bodied for a wheat beer. Taste is more pale ale like, the wheat is really not emphasized.

2006 bottle: Ahh, lovely aroma. Dark chocolate, and big 3C hops, citric and resiny, with some grass. Cherry pie? Flavor bit and sweetish up front with dark chocolate, espresso, roast and ash, with a drying slightly astringent finish. Palate near velvety. Finish shows some hot alcohol to go with the astringency. Perhaps a bit oaky/woody. Oh, and a pretty dark red-brown, smallish head that leaves medium lacing.

Bottle pours a dense deep black with a thick dark tan head. Aroma is decidedly hoppy and dark roasted, chocolately and leather. A bit like expedition. Very rich and full molassas and dark fruit. Flavor is quite chocolatly but still very bitter and smokey. Body is a bit thinner that I expected but does not detract. Soft carbonation and a suprisingly soft bitter trailer.
