Bottle. Alright pale ale. Slight caramel, hoppy flavor. Amber color, small white head.

Bottle on 03/21/2011. Dark black body with a medium creamy tan head. Sweet roast, chocolate and dry caramel aroma. Sweet roast, chocolate, coffee and dry caramel flavor with a firm bitter finish. Medium body with moderate carbonation. - 7/5/7/4/15 - 3.8 01/21/2006: Pours a thick dark black color with a large creamy brown head that lasts a while. Roasted malt and chocolate aroma. Rich coffee flavor with chocolate and nutty tones. 7/5/8/3/16 - 3.9

Pretty good. Dark orange color, nice head, with plenty of lacing. Aroma of hops, slight roasted malt flavor. Caramel flavor, very good.

Bottle. Cloudy yellowish color, with a long lasting head, with lacing on the sides of the glass. Standard IPA, with flavors of citrus. Dry feeling, but pretty even all the way through.

2005, best before March 06 bottle consumed on 1/18/06. The liquid decants a very clear amber-beige, with some copper and gold hints and a strong ruddy undertone. Fairly large bubbles rise lazily creating a moderate amount of beige-yellow, bubbly head that has VERY poor retention and provides no lacing. Crystal clear, even towards the end of the bottle, with no sediment. Seems bottle conditioned, very lightly so, with a really heavy filtration. The aroma boasts of banana weizeny esters, sugarplums, light dates and simple sugars. Slightest touch of clove, but it’s mainly bananas here. Strength is medium. The flavor begins with an mildly acidic/sour yeastiness, candi-sugar like stickiness (caramelized, dry sugars) and plenty of mushy banana flavors. Light hop apparency is mildly spicy, lightly bitter, quite herbal, while the bananas again dominate and are joined by a bit of bubble gum and clove. Finishes very simple, a round caramel sweetness, light hoppiness lingering. Bordeing near cloying levels of sweetness, mostly due to the lack of complexity. Low carbonation, but not tight at all, leading to a watery feel. Heavily thinned out texture, terribly so on the end, and the filtration allows for light, high alcohol notes to appear in both the nose and flavor.

Vibrant amber colour with plenty of haze. Sweet, heavy nuttiness and light fruit notes (pear, peach) make up the malty aroma. The flavour is more of the same, with a bit more nuttiness and a fairly chewy texture. I was hoping for something more earth-shattering, given my love of all things Smutty.

Lightoly hazed reddish copper ale with a light white head. Strong butterscotch aroma with notes of oranges. Sweet spicey malt in mouth with light lactic notes and nutty finish. Rich and oily texture. Slightly dissappointed. Tasted 28/01/05 at Institut Scotch Ale tasting. Bought at Galeville’s Grocers, in late 2004.

Deep dark black porter with a thin moka head. Sweet chocoalte malts and light hops in aroma. Sharp crisp chocolate malts with coffee notes, roasted and pleasant. Rich nuts and nice hops in finale. Rich and sharp. On tap at Clark’s Ale House, Summer 2005.

Hey, a nice big hoppy nose on this one! Piney, resiny, candyish, almost new mown hay. Dirty and earthy too, a touch of barnyard? Puckering tannic and dry in the mouth. More slight barnyard and earth character. Dry bitter finish. Amber color, full head, hazy.
