Associated Venue: Heretic Brewing Company
Established in 2011
We started by sharing a building with another brewery in 2011, but we always brewed our beer ourselves. Within the first six months we realized there wasn’t enough space for two breweries in one building, so we began the search for a new place. By 2013, we had built a new, modern brewery in the wonderful city of Fairfield, California and moved all our operations there, including our new distillery.

Part of the 1000 at AQ Bevolution’s Event at Kamikaze 6.2% A dark cola brown with a beige head & a sour fruity aroma with tart cherry notes. The taste is much mellowed than expected, very woodsy-vanilla, oak-a definite barrel quality to it. A cherry tartness first, then oak+barrel flavors then a mellow sourness. Nice stuff.

Part of the 1000 at AQ Bevolution’s Event at Kamikaze 6.8% A reddish brown color with a floral pine needle aroma that has a certain sweetness to it. A very quaffable bitter piney beer but I don’t get much from the Malts beyond some biscuity qualities. Still very very nice.

Part of the 1000 at AQ Bevolution’s Event at Kamikaze 4.8% a slightly cloudy orange pour with a citrus, apricot & spicy rye aroma. The taste is fruity then spicy with a dry puckering bitter finish & a pleasurably lingering fruity aftertaste. I like it. Tastier in a chalice than a pint.

8%nice floral herbal aroma . Orange gold color. The taste is great a punch of bitterness followed by floral hop notes. It didn’t strike me as terribly complex but as you drink it you keep noticing different flavors with every other sip: grapefruit, lemon, pine, dank, etc. an impressive multi-layered IPA. Part of the 1000 at AQ Bevolution’s Event at Kamikaze. At Kamikaze I am getting much more dankness in the aroma, resin & weed... The taste is still great biscuity malts with a bitter weedness to it. Again displaying the difference in glassware from a lager glass to a chalice.

On tap at Toronado, August 2013. Hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma and taste of hops, pine, grape and citrus. On the sweet side with a nice bitter finish. Fresh and really nice to drink.

22 oz. bottle, sent from Neillago (thanks a lot, Neil), pours a hazy orange amber with a medium off-white head. Aroma brings out strong dank hops, earthy, a little herbal notes, and just enough malt to back. Flavour destroys the palate, with intensely strong hempy, pot-like hops, more pot, and some earthy malt to back. Extremely brutal and uncompromising on the palate. Hoppy as hell, leaving a very dank finish. Excellent stuff.

Bottle, 22oz. A hazy, dark golden to amber beer with a two-finger, off-white head leaving some curtains. The aroma feels a little bit one-dimensional hop pellets-like piney. Some citrus peel and maltyness escapes the glass too though. It’s a bit thin on the palate, with a very soft carbonation. Pine cones, citrus peel and some sweetness, and of course, a nice bitterness in the flavor. Lasting bitterness, but the rest of the flavor fades quickly. Considering the ABV, it’s certainly a nice one, else it’s a bit boring. 130808
