Sample from 65 cl. bottle. Near black with a thin, lightly tanned head. Fruity aroma with citrus, toasted malts and caramel. Nuts and chocolate, herbal hops. Taste is lightly bitter. Medium body with an average carbonation and a creamy texture. Finishes dry and roasted with citrus, caramel and herbal hops. Very enjoyable Brown.

Bottle 65 cl. Pours a dark and warm brown with an orange hue and a light brown head. Chocolate roastiness and also a neat edge of nuts. Rather rich, malty body, pleasant chocolate and again roasted hazelnuts. Malt bitter finish. 081114

Purchased at the Beer Temple in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home on an extra hour of sleep while watching football. Appearance is pitch black, moderately thick, with a large dark tan head that lightly laces to the glass. Aroma is very interesting, I’d call it chocolate leather. It’s somewhat like a new car smell, but if you spilled dark roast coffee in the car. Taste is un-freakin-believable. Huge nutty chocolate flavor with a nice bitterness, butterscotch, finishes dry, light lactose, very unique and one of a kind. One of the best stouts I’ve had, pretty awesome name to boot...actually surprised a beer hasn’t been called Freedom Fries yet.

Purchased at Bottles and Cans in Chicago, IL; enjoyed after getting to work way too early this morning. Appearance is a cloudy gold with a moderate white head that laces to the glass. Aroma is rich in hops, spice, but really it’s just hops. Taste goes down with a hoppy flavor, mixture of pine and citrus, overall decent though.

Purchased at Bottles and Cans in Chicago, IL; enjoyed while listening to some records after a long work week. Appearance is pitch block, moderate consistency with a huge tan head that laces to the glass. Aroma is rich in chocolate and bitter hops, smell is rather dry but potent with a light smoke. Taste is pretty fantastic, huge hazelnut notes mixed with rich chocolate makes it taste nutella-like, comes off as much sweeter than I thought it would. It makes for a nice after work treat. Really enjoying this one a whole lot.

Purchased at Bottles and Cans in Chicago, IL; enjoyed on the last day of September on a very cool evening before watching playoff baseball. Appearance is a bright cloudy gold with a huge billowing white head that nicely laces to the glass. Aroma of tropical fruits (mango, pineapple), light grass. Taste goes down with a nice bitterness, slightly harsh, definite grapefruit notes that add a bit of tartness, overall fantastic.
