Description
Based in the heart of Stockport for almost two centuries, and owning around 260 tenanted and managed pubs, inns and hotels across the North West, ‘Robinsons’ is one of oldest and most respected names in British brewing history.

Robinsons took over Hartleys brewery in 1982, closing down the Ulverston plant in 1994 and transferring the Hartley brands to the Unicorn brewery. Robinsons bought the rights to the Ward brands in 2006 but subsequently sold some of those brands to Maxim Beer Co.

Pour is a crystal clear copper with a large foamy white head. Aroma is not real good. Some bland malt and old hops. Flavor is about the same. Some caramel malt and very little hops even for an English IPA. This was just a bland big nothing. $3.99 a bottle so it was not a big loss.

'Clockwise' is one of those UK films I'm happy to watch over again. I'm happy with this one too, golden coloured, an easy strength keg pour, unsurprisingly given the name orange fruit plays a part in its flavour, most stated in its aftertaste.

Acquiring prescription sunglasses has enhanced my recent summers'. I proscribed this beer for myself. It's decent, and has an enhancing effect too. A steady west coast style, deeper golden coloured, clear appearance, very drinkable keg texture. Has lots of tropical fruity-sugars that appeal.

Continuing the Christmas ales at Christmas with this clear golden brew. More regular than seasonal, it is sessionable with a hoppiness, which could be supped or served any time of the year really, but at least the label is suitably santa-like!

Pour is a complete black with a bone white head. Aroma is some sweet molasses and charred malt. Flavor is some roasted malt but a bit thin on the mouthfeel. With this being the day of the dead I thought it would have some Mexican chocolate and ancho chili but no, they stuck to the basics, which is fine. OK stout but a bit thin. The aroma was better than the flavor.

Black colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma is roasted and toasted malts with some chocolate and coffee to it. Flavour is quite similar, but also has some herbal and mild nutty tones to it.
