Description

was thinking this was from euro, go figger. my red and silver pounder can says glutenberg american pale ale. has a nice head. .......looks like pale lager. smells fairly hoppy with some metal in the background. stronger flavor, does not hide alky too well. yes, that medium bitter personality starts to set in during the session. some wine in there too. since i was expecting something a little more civilized, a little disappointing. why go to canada when i can find this typical american pale ale taste all round here. neverthe less, glad to have had the chance to try it.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Golden color, bright, with compact head. The aroma is fresh, fruity, hoppy, crisp. Lean mouthfeel; good malt flavor, quite crisp, some cereals, with late light sugars; strong bitterness with plenty of hop qualities; balanced.
It has something peculiar given the absence of barley, but it’s barely noticeable. It’s a remarkable effort.
Very good.

celery salt, cappuccino coffee, maple, molasses. Much the same in the flavor and it all melds together in a way that makes it quite special

Can: Poured a bright clear golden color ale with a medium size head with OK retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of light citrus hops with some cereal notes really coming through. Taste is also dominated by citrus hops notes with a fair amount of bitterness and some cereal notes easily identifiable. You can actually taste that this beer is not brewed with barley but it is still quite enjoyable. Body is a bit light for style with medium carbonation.

750ml bottle [Thanx Tanja & Verena!]. Cloudy pale golden colour with huge, foamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Citrusy, floral and spicy aroma, notes of lemon, rose hip, pink pepper. Taste is floral, slightly peppery spicy, a touch of bath salt, pink pepper, rose hip, somehow wheaty. Slightly perfumed overall.

Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver
Dark mahogany color with creamy head. The roasted malt aroma is a bit dusty. Smooth, not too dry; the body is weak; some roasted malt flavor, and light buttery feeling; correct bitterness; a bit dusty in the end. The final is lightly nutty.
Imprecise.

Blond color, hazy, with small head. The aroma is very light, but with a nice citrusy touch. Dry mouthfeel; hint of cereals flavor; correct bitterness, with light tea and bergamot impression. Very light astringency in the final.
Clean but weak.
