Tasting at Papsø
Hazy amber color. The aroma has some vanilla and cigar; strange. Light body, also because it’s evident that there is an infection going on, that produced some sourness.

12 oz bottle given to me by beastiefan2k. Pour is black with garnet highlights and a noisy, firm two inch tan head. Head falls slow with nice lacing. Lacing remains throughout the entire beer. Aroma of spent coffee grounds, roasty tobacco and some mineral. Taste is the roast coffee, leafy tobacco and mineral of the nose, along with a soft lactose sweetness that works really nice as just a subtle accent to the roast stout flavor. There is also some nice drying pine hoppiness to the finish. Palate is medium to thin, along with high carbonation, which, joined with the dryness to the finish make this beer real easy to drink. Tallgrass makes some very quaff-able beers. Thanks for this one Eugene.

This one came in my beer club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a caramel-brown color with a huge tan head. The aroma was nutty and fairly malty with an undertone of cocoa and cherries. The flavor was malty, bitter and toasty with light notes of ripe cherries, nut and caramel. The finish was long, tangy, bitter, nutty and a bit fruity. Medium body. Decent.

Man, I love me some sweat of buffalo, such an appetizing name for a beer. The beer pours a very dark brown and a small tan head. With agitation of the glass the head rebuilds nicely. Aroma is strong on coffee with a definite sweat cream aspect. Comes off as an effervescent coffee brownie. Flavor is similar but a bit lighter and a bit more of a mineral and rocky feel to it. Its is very easy and a great mix of coffee, dry stout, and cream stout.
