This beer pours a dark brown color with amber around the edges, and a medium foamy off-white head that recedes steadily to a wispy film. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, coffee and slight hops. Light-bodied with a roasty malt and coffee character, and mild hops in the background. The finish is sweet with a short mild coffee aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with small white head. The aroma is metallic, pepper, citrus. Thin mouth, corn malt, pepper, wood, odd.

12oz bottle. Another weak offering from Bayou Teche. Off garbage aroma. More a a Saison than a Bierre de Garde, there is a pronounced spicy, peppery yeast character. Other than that pretty some wheat and golden malt. And the off tones. Poorly made ( looking at you, Lazy Magnolia) undesirable product. Amateur hour brewing.

12oz bottle. Burgundy black body, big foamy beige head. Kind of has a slight infected twang. The flavors are OK, but there something odd an sugary about the body. Pretty weak offering. Brown chocolate, caramel.

Avenue Pub, New Orleans tap to a to-go cup: Pours oil with brown head that leaves everlasting lacing. Yes, this does stain. Aroma is milky chocolate, molasses, wood, tons of sugar. Taste is somewhat sweet with relatively little bitterness. Loads of chocolate and wood as well. Good.

Avenue Pub, new orleans tap: pours light amber with a white head. Aroma is sugar, some yeast, and ambiguous fruitiness. Taste is a bit sweet, but not too much. I think that there is some unneccesary hate going on this beer. It is not too complex, but it is still not bad.
