Bottle 65 cl. Comes as: "Bayou Teche Biere Joi Mello Dubble". Pours a clear and pretty, nutty brown with a beige head. Dry coffee, chili aroma with and underlying discreet roastiness. Medium body, subtle sweet dark, dried fruit and then the combined impact of coffee and roast comes rushing in. A very well made chili beer - if it has to be. 081114

I’ve tried a lobster ale, why not a crawfish saison? Hazy bright golden color, medium white head. Nice aroma of crusty bread, mixed spice. Taste has fresh hay, light spice, dusty pepper. Very nice.

650 ml bottle purchased at Carls Meat Market, Kittery for $5.99, decent buy. Hazy orange amber type color displaying thin head in the snifter. Aroma is peppery yeast, bready yeast and straw.

Damn ! That is some peppery yeast, snap! (hello 1994 with that comment) Flavor has a big yeast display with secondary flavors of straw and dusty wheat and very faint citrus notes. The texture of this saison is chewy yeast with a mild bread feel. It also has a drying affect on my tongue. I can see this would go great with some spicy Cajun food. Could go well with many different seafood dishes. I enjoyed this, above average.

Clear, lightly amber and definitely golden coloured body with a very thin, single centimetre off-white head that fades like a soda. Aroma of malt, wine cooler, light fruit and a touch of caster sugar - nothing interesting. Light-bodied; Sharp metallic flavour with hints of earth, caramel, nuts and a touch of fruits, perhaps a smattering of passionfruit, but not much there. Aftertaste shows a malty kick, some light alcohol and a touch of sugars, but not much else and no definite passionfruit flavour anywhere around. Overall, a pretty bad beer with not much flavour and no complexity at all - a very simplex beer throughout. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 01-November-2013 for US$2,25 sampled at home in Washington on 05-September-2014.
