Crooked Stave brewery is known for their brewing specialty in Brettanomyces fermentations and barrel-aged sour and wild ales. Crooked Stave Brewing Company is home to some of the finest sour beers. Quite sharp and has a barrel woody note. No real whisky to speak of though. Good but not great especially considering the price tag.

Shared bottle @ Patricks. Hazy, reddish orange to pink body with a small, lacing off-white head. Aroma is delicate funky with mild wood, plum and mild acidity. Flavor is also very smooth, refreshing and at the easy drinkable side of delicate. Fruity like aroma, smooth, modest acidic, some wood and funk, lots of plum but nothing artificial or any sharp edges to be found. Just extremely well balanced with a fine, tart finish.

Bottle. Slightly unclear pinkish orange body with a small white head. Aroma has sour berries, smells like some kind of general berries, not able to detect any blueberry specific. Flavor is mils acidic berries, slightly funky and really not so much more. Feels very plain and one-dimensional- Medium body and average aftertaste the same fruity flavor. Perhaps the bottle is a bit out of date even as its within the BBF date?
