Description
Crooked Stave Brewing Company is an artisan microbrewery in Denver, Colorado. It was founded by beer lover and beer brewer Chad Yakobson. The establishment of Crooked Stave was the result of Chad’s years of travel and studies about beer brewing abroad. His study of Master of Science in Brewing and Distilling at a university in Scotland gave him the expertise to set up his own brewery. Crooked Stave brewery is known for their brewing specialty in Brettanomyces fermentations and barrel-aged sour and wild ales. Crooked Stave Brewing Company is home to some of the finest sour beers. Some of its remarkable beers are the Crooked Stave Surette, Crooked Stave Vieille and Crooked Stave St. Bretta.

Bottle @ TSODRBSG13, Ulfborg. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, white wine and barnyard. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate acidic. Dry and moderate acidic finish. 310813

Bottle @ Danish Ratebeer Summer Gathering. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are brett, white wine, vinegar, malt, fruits and hops. Nice and sour. A real plaque remover.

Sampled @ RB Danish Summer Gathering 2013 day 2, Ulfborg. Bottle. Looks like apple juice, no head. Aroma is sourish and white wine. Tastes very sour, vineous, sour green apple and sour grapes. Average body and carbonation.

Very nice. If wits always turned out like this I’d be a fan. Cloudy yellow without much head or lacing. Citrus and lots of bretta in aroma. Sour finish with some crispness. Slick mouthfeel. Nice. Thanks to Sammy.
