Description
Hogs Back Brewery was founded in 1992 in Tongham, and bought by current owner Rupert Thompson in 2012. In 2014, Hogs Back planted its own hop field on land adjacent to the brewery, bringing the traditional but near-extinct White Bine hop variety back to its Surrey home.

We’re a small family-owned brewery tucked away in the village of Tongham, in the heart of the old Surrey hop-growing region. Still an independently owned brewery, Hogs Back owe much of their success to their iconic, flagship real ale 'TEA' (Traditional English Ale) - a firm favourite of cask-conditioned real ale drinkers throughout the UK and a multi-award winning brew year-in, year-out.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from the local Co-Op. Pours totally clear gold with a small, foamy white head. Lightly sweet flavour with pleasant lightly toasted biscuits, some tangerine and orange, mild bitterness, hints of toffee. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with further ripening citrus, sun-kissed pale malts. Enjoyable gear.
