Bottle at home in Hackney - sourced from Tesco. Pours mostly clear copper-gold with a creamy, tan topping. Moderately sweet with rich bready malts, whole grains, a bit of caramel, English yeast, subtle leafy notes. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Decent balance to finish, more bread, lightly toasted grains, a little earthy hop, leaves, toffee. Enjoyable English ale!

1/3 pint, festival cask beer, 4 % abv, at Roebuck Inn (JDW). Shared with Finn. Clear copper coloured body, remaining beige head, clingy lacing. Inviting smell of leafy hops and earth-like malts. Dark bread, caramel malts, and a backdrop of biscuit to the taste character. Bittersweet tail. Pretty tasty English bitter. (Nottingham 12.10.2022).

[Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading as Home Harvest ‘22] An amber coloured pour with a thin cream head; biscuity malt aroma; malty taste with some caramel and a light woody bitterness; then a leafy finish.

Cask at North Western, Liverpool. Pours a golden amber with a small off-white head and good lacing. Aroma is mainly autumn fruits. In he mouth it is slightly sweet, and somewhat watery with main flavour being hops (somewhere between traditional and floral). Autumn fruits and nuts as well with some hints of spices later. Finish is a little bitter. It’s OK, but rather bland.

330ml bottle - Pours an unclear coppery brown colour with a small thin bubbly beige head. The aroma is malty, caramel, sweet dried fruit and light chocolate notes. A sweet malty taste, warming alcohol, sweet malts, caramel, citrus peel and dark fruit flavours with a warming bittersweet finish.
