(Bottle 50 cl) Beautiful, clear orangey brown with a fine, lightly creamy, beige head. Sweetish, vinous aroma of dates and other dried fruit. Medium body with some roasted malt and then these incredibly delicate flavours of dried fruit without excessive sweetness. Actually it ends fairly dry. 201006

Bottle conditioned: warm gold colour with a thin white head, quite lively when first poured but quickly settling; strong toffee aroma; tastes of malt and nuts with a kick of hops to balance the sweetness, smooth and pleasant to drink.

Bottle: pours dark brown with a tan head that soon disappears; aroma vinuous with some malt; almost oily feel in the mouth, reminiscent of a full-bodied red wine, pleasantly dry malty aftertaste. Really good.

Cask handpull at Simple Simons, Canterbury. Copper, thin off white head. Yeast/malt aroma. OK fruit in mouth, bit of polish, some almond nuttiness. Good fruit, strawberry towards the end, bit of spice. Odd mix of flavours. Bit of green apple throughout.

Bottle: Hazy, amber coloured; quite firm and lacing off-white head; fruity (dark berries and oranges) and dark-malty to nutty aroma with a tinge of molasses and tobacco, hops detectable; moderate, quite dry and bitter flavour; dry peppery, bitter fruity finish. Very pleasant stuff !

Cask @ GBBF 2006. Pours a golden colour with a large longlasting off-white head. Fruity malty hoppy aroma. Malty fruity hoppy flavor. Has a long malty aftertaste.

500ml bottle. Amber, thin off white head. Yeast, hop and nice strawberry fruits aroma. Almost unbelievably drinkable bitter. Good juicy strawberry malt in mouth. Understated hop finish. Finish lacks something. But overall easy drinking bitter.

500ml bottle from Hog’s Back Beer Shop. Clear reddish copper with thin off white head. Yeasty toffeeish hop aroma. Bit light on the flavours in the mouth, would expect it to be a bit better to be honest. Bit too carbonated and a little tinny yet it is bottle conditioned. Caramel toffee flavour runs through it butter overall the lasting sensation is this over carbonation. Lacks the usual hoppiness from this brewery.
