A slightly unclear ruby beer with no head. The aroma is very lighty fruity with notes of hops. The flavor is rather complex; fruity, hoppy and a very bitter end. A very nice bitter.

A deep red or brown beer with a small chocolate brown head. The aroma is light with notes of chocolate and coffee. The flavor is nice malty sweet with strong notes of chocolate and coffee. It end on a slightly sour dryness combined with a malt bitterness.

The color is copper and it has a small head. The aroma is of sweet with notes of caramel and fruit. The flavor is of caramel and oranges. The end is very dry and hoppy. Which all in all makes it a very nice bitter.

The bottle says TEA, and TEA is what I tasted. Slightly citrusy, earthy aroma (I also detected wet socks) emanated from the iced tea (with lemon, of course) body. Earthy flavor with hints of lemon and woodiness. Medium-bodied and fairly smooth. Tasty, mellow, and estery.

Copper colour with a very thin off-white head. Very strong english hop aroma with powerful medicinal qualities. Medium-bodied; Definately strong medicinal quality with a subtle wheatiness. Aftertaste shows a sour english hop characteristic. Overall, pretty good, a bit different than a normal English Pale Ale though! I bought this 50 cL bottle at Green's Beverages in Atlanta, Georgia and sampled it on 27-September-2003.

The aroma is ok, but it doesn't have any rich malt flavour expected in a Barley Wine, where is that gone? and so, instead, there are bold signs of age: earthiness, nuttiness, maybe even cardboard. Not good.

Dark amber color, clean; it has almost no head. The aroma of malt shows clear signs of oxidisation, but also an interesting nutty touch, deep. Round body, oily mouthfeel; malt and caramel flavor, with some signs of oxidisation, liquorice and nuts. Moderate bitterness; no signs of alcohol.

Hazy amber color, with very little carbonation and virtually no head. Aroma of malt, caramel, toffee, vanilla. Quite good malt and caramel flavor, with a touch of fudge; the mouthfeel is a bit oily because of the missing carbonation; the bitterness is low, the alcohol provides a timid warmth. Good, but the body is a bit slim, and missing more maltiness.

Dark amber, brown color; flat, without head. Strong caramel and toffee aroma. The carbonation is minimal, the texture is oily; it has a very strong flavor of caramel with some toffee flavor too, moderate sweetness, quite strong bitterness, and a light nutty touch. Not as good as it was when fresh.

Amber to brown color; creamy head.
Wonderful aroma, malty, with a characteristic fruitiness (pineapple…).
Full mouth, malty, heavy; caramel, a touch of fruitiness, nuts; perfectly balanced.
Bold, bitter final, very long.
One of my favourite English… Let's drink the second bottle in a couple of years.

Amber color, thin head. Malty aroma, sweet, nearly fruity, close to some Belgian ales (sorry…). Reasonable body strength, not impressive. Besides the light malt, the balanced bitterness and the alcohol touch of alcohol, there is a light wood character. Ordinary palate (not enough aromatic; old hops).

Bottled. I've got the seasonal variety Santas Wobble, which according to their website was so popular they made it a regular and changed the name of it. Pours deep amber. Syrupy, fruity nose. Full bodied, malty and very sweet. Nice woody, spicy finish.

Sampled cask conditioned. Deep golden. Pleasant hay-like aroma. Medium bodied, some malt sweetness. Really soft mouthfeel, a hint of salt, well balanced with bitterish finish. Pleasant all the way through. Top notch as a summer ale.
