On tap @Ma che siete venuti a fà (Rome). Ambrata scarica, abbastanza limpida, schiuma abbondante, discretamente persistente. Al naso sentori di pane, latte, biscotto, lieviti, stalla. In bocca è magnifica, un succo di pane liquido, magnificamente equilibrata, si beve facile ma ha anche tanta "sostanza", appaga ma non sazia. Corpo leggero, carbonazione media. Ottima Zwickel.

0,5 l bottle. Clear amber with a stable, frothy, white head. Very nice malty aroma of caramel, honey and nuts. Sweetish taste of caramel, roasted malts, honey and nuts in a very pleasant way. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, average carbonation. Finish is rather short and just slightly bitter. Decent beer that is very good for its style.

Bottle shared by Erwin Van Moll @ Van Moll Brewpub. Clear dark orange to amber color, small white to off-white head that diminishes quickly. Smell and taste malts, straw, lightly metallic especially in the aroma, caramel, softly bitter. Decent body and carbonation.

(bottle) Slightly hazy, deep amber colour with a medium-sized off-white foamy head. Mildly toasted malty aroma with notes of bread crusts, caramel, traces of (wal-)nuts and a mildly herbal-spicy hops. Bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Nutty toast-malty aroma with notes of caramel, bread and herbal hops; dry-ish toast-malty finish with a spicy hop dosage. Very balanced and rounded Franconian Lager. 20.IX.14

Bottle from trade with Pivnizub, many thanks Guenther. Dark amber color with thick long lasting off-white head. Aroma of amlt and caramel. malt, caramel in taste with herbal notes, earthy notes. OK.

Flasche (50 cl) als "Zwickl-Bier" von Hopfen & Malz, Berlin. - Dunkles Goldbraun, trüb. - In der Nase schöne Karamelsüße mit hintergründiger Frucht und etwas pfeffriger fränkischer Hopfen. - Im Antrunk ebenfalls aromatisch karamelsüß aber nicht dick, fein ausbalanciert durch zarte fruchtige Schärfe und würzigen fränkischen Hopfen. Münchner Malz mit kräftiger Brotkruste. Gut rezent, vollmundig, mild hefig. Im Abgang nicht zu schwacher, würzig-pfeffriger Hopfen und Mokka. Ausreichend bitterer Nachtrunk. - Sehr schönes dunkles Zwickel mit der klassisch fränkischen Kombination von sehr guten Malzaromen und würzigem Hopfen. Sehr empfehlenswert. Darf auf keinen Fall zu kalt getrunken werden, sonst kommen die Aromen nicht recht zur Geltung. Leider scheint die Qualität größeren Schwankungen zu unterliegen: zwei andere Flaschen schmeckten unharmonisch schroff.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch röstmalzig, würzig, Karamell, leicht fruchtig. Geschmack würzig, röstmalzig, leicht bitter hopfig.

Flasche von Hopfen & Malz, Berlin-Wedding. - Herrlich kitschiges rosarotes Etikett. Goldbraun, klar; rasch verschwindender Schaum. In der Nase nussig-röstiges Malz, nur leichter Hopfen. Im Antrunk leicht süßes, sehr aromatisches Karamel, Münchner Malz, geröstete Nüsse, Brotkruste, leichte Kaffeenote, zarte Waldfrüchte. Ein leichtes Fehlaroma (Schweißfüße) verliert sich mit zunehmender Erwärmung. Nicht zu rezent. Im Abgang etwas würziger, leicht pfeffriger fränkischer Hopfen und Röstmalzbittere. - Schönes, stark karamelbetontes aber nicht zu süßes Festbier, ausreichend gehopft und enorm süffig.
