Bottle looks simple, but really good. Beer in the glass also. Dark, really nice head. Starts malty, a bit roasty, hints of caramell and chocolate. Finish is milder, notes are not so intense. Very drinkable and really a great beer!

Bottle. A clear, copper-colored beer topped by a small, off-white head. Malty, caramel nose with some meaty notes and fruityness. The flavor has some caramel, a little hoppy giving fruityness and bitterness. Slightly piney and metallic finish. Medium body. Definitely not my choice of dunkel. 100813

Bottle at the Priory Arms, London on 4th August 2010. Pours clear copper with a white foam head and little lacing. Malt and smoke aroma, blend of malt, cheese, grass hop and woodsmoke in main kick before a bittersweet finish on a textured, full mouthfeel. Easy drinking and pleasant.

Bottle. Light caramel malt aroma. Clear medium brown color with moderate head. Very lightly sweet caramel malt. Watery palate and moderate carbonation - not much here. Pretty bland.

Rerate from bottle. 4 5 5 3 10 roast, burned caramel/nuts, burned diacetyl, how does that work? Darkest amber, golden cream. Burned almond cake, roast sugar, dactyl strangeness. Herbal notes, weird. Old rating 7 4 8 4 15 Bottle. Bready roast, light fruit, bitter notes. Chestnut, off-white layer. Nutty, light choclaty start, fruits and berries, honey sweetness. Full chewy, body weakens a little towards the finish. Flavourfull and moreish. Roasted almonds in the aftertaste.

The bottle looks simple, but good. The beer in the glass is a bit darker than exspected, nice head. Starts soft-malty, roasty in the background without being too much. Some fruity notes of plum, caramell notes, also some coffee. Well balanced finish. I really liked it!
